How about renaming it the Pearsonvue Loophole, that's exactly what it is.

The Pearsonvue Loophole works!!! I tried to re-register a couple hours after taking the test and was unable to get to the payment screen. My name appeared on the CA BRN website today, I'm an RN!!!

I'm in California, took the test at 8am this morning. Logged on to Pearsonvue at 15:30 and my test indicated Delivery Successful. When attempting to re-register for the test I received the same pop-up, and was unable to get to the credit card page.:cheers:

The Men in Nursing Project has a discussion forum on Facebook dedicated to the support and advancement of males entering into, and within the field of nursing. As a paradigm shift continues to occurr, what was once a field traditionally dominated by women, is now seeing increasing numbers of males choosing nursing as a career; with that comes issues specific to males as RNs. The Men in Nursing Project, the brainchild of Executive Director Deb Schulte Hacker of Maurine Church Coburn School of Nursing in Monterey CA, along with Wayne Lavengood LCSW; created the project in 2007 from an altruistic muse with a steadfast commitment to the success of male nursing program students statewide. The positive response from schools around the state has been resoundingly overwhelming. In 2008 the Men in Nursing Project made history with the first ever Men in Nursing Project Conference held in Monterey CA. A two day event, many prominent male RNs within the healthcare field graced the podium, along with the well venerated Executive Director of California's BRN, Ruth Ann Terry. The 2nd annual Men in Nursing Project Conference will be held once again in Monterey CA on April 23rd-24th. With the momentum the project is carrying, and interest growing exponentially, the Men in Nursing Project continues to be an incredibly fulfilling ride for the creators, as well as all involved. I'll be graduating in one year and thus far I've really enjoyed my L&D rotation, it's been my favorite. The privledge to be part of a human beings dynamic physiological changes as they happen, and witness the cycle of life is absolutely fascinating; and ostensibly for the most part it's a happy happy joy joy time. In terms of patient care I view myself as a healthcare professional, as far as gender I have no alternative, I'm a man. I personally know two male RN's, one straight and one gay who have been L&D nurses for the last twenty years. Listening to them speak this week at the Men in Nursing Conference was inspiring, and really started me thinking again about L&D as a real option. I'd love to hear everyones opinion on males in L&D.

Just curious if anyone here on the board went straight into the OR after graduating. I'll be graduating in a year and so far other than L&D, the OR seems to be calling out to me. I'm tired of hearing the usual "you have to work in med/surg for a year before you can get into the OR". I've been working in the ER for the last three years as a tech/NA, therefore the transition to RN in the ER setting would be somewhat effortless; unfortunately I'm burnt in the ER. I feel with my extensive acute care experience, moving straight into the OR could be a relatively easy transition. Anyone know of any hospitals anywhere in the country that might offer this kind of opportunity for new grads?
