I was accepted to A Cal State nursing program and two private schools. I think I am going to go to The state school because of the price, but do you think that is the right thing? Would I be sacrificing a quality education for a cheaper one? Anyone have any advice? Thank you!

The teas test wasn't bad at all. The only problem I had was getting through the math section with enough time. You just need to know your fractions and decimals and definitely know conversion factors. Like how many inches in a foot, how many cups in a quart etc. English and reading sections were super easy as long as you are good at comprehension and you might want to practice some spelling. Science was interesting, because it was mostly stuff I had learned a while back. There were a few physics questions and one or two about genetics. Alot of the science section involves reading a graph so its not too bad. I did use the study guide. It helped me a lot with math. It has more info than you actually need but I found it very helpful.I studied a little bit, but not too much, honestly it wasnt bad at all. Goodluck, Im sure you guys will do great!

I got my acceptance letter today for Cal State San Bernardino's nursing program! I am soo excited, but I am definately nervous. Im still waiting on letters from other schools, but im just excited to know that Im in somewhere!

ya. a 3.4 is good.They require a 3.0 to get an interview. Many people have been accepted with a GPA similar to yous from what i have heard. you should have no problem if your interview goes well and you pass the two entrance exams. but id definately say go for it!

I had an interview for Loma Linda a few weeks ago, i am not applying for the accelerated program, just the normal one, but i know that the questions they ask are the same. When you arrive you they will give you a prompt and ask you to write a short essay. It says something like ....in nursing you will work with many different kinds of people from different cultures etc, what experiences have you had that will benefit you and help you to work with a diverse population( like i said not word for word but thats the jist of it) She will ask you the basic questions, why do you want to be a nurse? What do you think a nurse is? Where do you see yourself in 5 years, 10 years? She will ask why you want to go to Loma Linda. I know there were some other questions,i just dont remember exactly. but it is very comfortable, she is very very nice and not intimidating a bit. You shouldnt worry at all. As far as statistics go, i wish i knew that myself. I do know that the interview is an important part of their decision making process, but like with every other school GPA and your test scores are important. The cool thing about Loma Linda is that they are very personal so from what i hear they put more weight on the interview than most schools do. I hope this helps, im sure you will do great! September 1 When does the acceptance letters go out? not soon enough What is your plan A, B, C...? cry......and then wait for next time haha. they accept once every quarter....

A lot of people i have spoken with in nursing school say that many of the tests they take have a great deal of critical thinking in them. I know nursing itself involves a lot of critical thinking. I took a critical thinking philosophy class and found that it helped a great deal in my other classes, especially classes like micro. It is up to you, but i would say you should probably lean towards taking a critical thinking class.

Hey everyone! I'm kind of new here, i have been reading posts for awhile but haven't posted much myself. My GPA is only a 3.3, but the problem is, I have no C's so im not allowed to retake any classes to increase my GPA and they only base it on 9 prerequisite classes.. Do schools consider this in the application process, or am i just out of luck. The rest of my application is good. My teas test is high and i think i have pretty good recommendations. It just seems, from looking at these posts that a 3.5 is almost the cut of for the BSN programs.I am applying to Cal State San Bernardino right now, but im not feeling very hopeful :uhoh21: I was just wondering if anyone had any insight. Thank you! :)
