  1. Has anyone been told by the College of Nursing when the earliest acceptance letters could be sent out?
  2. 22 days until what?
  3. Were there any roman numeral questions on the math section? How difficult were the metric conversion questions on the math section?
  4. Were the chemistry questions pretty basic or in depth?
  5. Were there any questions on the math section that were a surprise?
  6. Are the formulas given to you for the physics questions on the TEAS V?
  7. No, I am taking the exam on June 29th for an ADN program in Texas.
  8. Do you get your score immediately after finishing the exam?
  9. GabrielaTorrealba, How was the Kaplan exam? Any advice for preparing for the science section?
  10. On the Science section, were the A&P questions tricky or were they straight forward? From what I have heard, the questions can be very specific rather than general questions.
  11. It's been awhile since I have been on the message board, but I wanted to see if anyone has recently taken the Kaplan nursing entrance exam and what they thought about it, particularly the science portion?
  12. What would be the best thing to use to prepare for the writing section of the test? Is the Kaplan book good for this section?
  13. Does anyone know if you get your score immediately after you finish the exam?
  14. Lorilou221, Would you suggest anything specifically to prepare for the writing section? Were there any type of math problems that you were not expecting to see on the exam? The school that I am applying to had a cutoff score of 73 to be admitted, so it sounds like your school had similar results. I'm sure you will get in with an 85%. Congrats!
  15. Has anyone taken BIOL 2420 (Microbiology) at Richland College in Dallas? I'm taking that class now with Professor ***** and wanted to see if anyone had any insight into this class at Richland? Thanks in advance.
  16. I'm sorry, I meant to ask sbrook5 about the science portion. SBROOK5, what's your advice on preparing for the science portion? Are there any body systems that seemed to be tested on more than others? SLE80, I take the test in October as well. If I find out more about the exam before October, I will definitely let you know!
  17. sle80, Did the science portion cover only physiological processes? Were there any processes covered more than others?
  18. Did you still take the writing and science section? If so, how was the science? Was there anything tricky on the math section?
  19. The school that I am applying to will be administering the test at the end of October. The fact that the test is so new makes it a bit more nerve racking since we don't really know what to expect! Good luck on your test as well
  20. It's an actual test made by Kaplan. Below is a description of the test from the school's website that I am applying to. The Kaplan Admission Exam is a 91-question multiple-choice test which evaluates basic reading, math, writing, and science skills. The Reading section (22 questions in 45 minutes) tests the students' ability to identify the idea and/or purpose of the passage, identify details, and to use inference and logic. The Math section (28 questions in 45 minutes) tests fundamental math, algebra, and problem solving, conversions, operations, ratios, word problems. The Writing section (21 questions in 45 minutes) asks students to identify correct and incorrect sentence mechanics, paragraph logic, and passage development. The Science section (20 Questions in 30 minutes) tests students' knowledge of Physiology in the following areas: Cardiovascular system, electrolytes, gastrointestinal system, immune system, neurology, renal system, hematological system, homeostasis, respiratory system, sensory system.
  21. sle80, what school are you applying to? I will be taking the test to apply to NCTC in Texas.
  22. I can't seem to find anyone who has taken the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam. Has anyone on this forum taken this exam? If so, would you mind giving some insight as to how the test was? I am applying to a school that requires this exam, but it's either a brand new exam or not many schools use it for whatever reason. Thanks in advance for any replies.
