  1. Ayrman, What do you do with all the food if nothing goes wrong and there is still plenty of food to go around. Do you just eat the canned food all along, or do you donate it somewhere after a few years? Where do you get all this food? Do you buy it online and have it shipped? I think if I was to go to the store and buy all the canned and non perishable food they would look at me like I was crazy. I like to be prepared too, and have though of stocking up on food for a while.
  2. Elvish, thanks for your reply. I greatly appreciate it.
  3. Hi, I am not an L&D nurse, in fact Im not even in nursing school yet but are doing my pre courses to enter the program. I have read a lot of threads in the L&D section and it's great to find you are all caring and passionate about your patients. Like I mentioned I am taking my pre courses right now, but have a few questions for the L&D nurses. If I would want to job shadow at the hospital would that be possible, do you ever get people like that? Also are your shifts flexible? Meaning if you would want to work 7-8 hrs a day is that possible, or only 12 hr shifts are possible? I currently have 2 small children and know what it's like in the delivery room but only from my side not the nurses. I would really lover to job shadow an L&D nurse to really see what it's like. It seems like a dream job to me sharing an experience with someone else in the birth of their baby. It feels empowering just to think about it. Is there any advice you can give for someone like me? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.:wink2:
  4. I am so thankful I came upon this forum:mad:. I have lots of questions. I am currently in a community college doing pre reques (I can never get the spell right) for an RN degree. My one and only interest for now is being a Labor and Delivery Nurse, working in the Birth Center at the hospital. I have 2 kids under 3 and I think that would be my calling for a career. I read in another forum that you can take a 3 yr intense program for a nursing diploma without doing pre reques. Has anyone ever heard of that? That sounds pretty tempting, since I do no like taking pre reques (I amalmost half way done with them though). Where is this program available? Also is there such a thing as being a grad and going right into L&D or do I have to start somewhere else? And in being and L&D nurse is there such a thing as working while your kids are in school (or do they not choose their schedule?). Any advice from anyone in general from anyone? Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. God Bless!!
  5. Hello Everyone. I saw in this forum that you can get a Diploma in Nursing without doing the pre reques? I am currently doing my pre reques for Nursing, but if I don't have to do them to be an RN then I would not do them. The forum stated that it was an intense 3 yr program, which I would rather do than feeling like I'm wasting time doing pre requies and then entering into the RN program. Does anyone know more about this 3 yr program? I am very interested in working in the OB/Birth Center as an RN, that is my dream. Thank you.
