  1. I am currently applying to Mad River Hospital and am curious to know if you have any idea what Sutter Coast in Crescent pays for new RN grads. $22 days at Mad River sucks! I make near 10 dollars more than that a same day surgery center! Don't know if I can make that change!
  2. Jadu1106~ I just took, and PASSED, the NCLEX exam for the 3rd time. I almost gave up, but I kept on with it. I hope you have plans to continue to visualize yourself with your RN. I graduated from RN school in 2002, so if I could study up and pass, anyone can! I used Kaplan's international NCLEX Review, it comes in MP3 format and it is about 20 hours of lecture. As I listened to the lecture I typed notes and I feel like hearing it and seeing it really helped this time. Mind you , I had about 150 pages of notes when I was finished and I only had a week to re read them all before taking the test. If you are interested in the lecture let me know and I can get you the details. I also want you to know that if you test in CA, there is no time limit or amount of times you take the exam... I lived in Washington and Oregon when I took the test the first 2 times, but they cut you off after 3 yrs of school. I hope this is helpful for you, really, if I could do it, you really can , and will! I was a good student, but I think it came down to being better prepared this time and I also took a beta blocker that was prescribed by my doctor for the mornig of the test, and it helped to keep my Fight or Flight catecholamines at bay, I had a really clear head instead of being overwhelmed and feeling rushed. I only got 75 questions, which tells me I aced it! Keep your chin up, you are going to pass this exam, no matter how many times it takes to get there. If I could do this, anyone can! Best of luck my friend!
  3. I tested in CA also and the ladies at the testing center got word that we can check our results on the Board of Nursing Website, like within 3-5 days of testing. Have you looked there yet? I guess it goes into the license verification section of the website before it slugs its way to you via snail mail....
  4. WOW, I am in stitches right now! I just took my NCLEX exam a few hours ago and I nearly threw my boyrfriend out of the car when he told me how well i did! Isn't in awful? They all want to help so bad, but when that computer shut off at 75 I KNEW I HAD FAILED! The last thing you want to hear is how great you did from those that don't even know what LOC stands for! The ones that really bothered me were the nice smiley ladies at the testing center, they were congratulating me on the way out the door, their twinkling little eyes and eager grins made me want to ralph! Anyway, as I have read, this isn't any unique roller coaster I am on! Thank you for posting your experience, it surely has helped me snap out of my **** poor attitude about the whole damn thing! :chuckle
  5. Your story was exactly what I was looking for, I need not read more. I walked out of the testing center less than an hour ago and I feel like crap! I got the 75 questions also and I hope to God I didn't sink this ship! Thank you for taking so much time to explain your last week and day of the test. I ran away from my boyfriend's house before anyone could tell me how great they thought I did! HA! Like they would know, the Laymens crew! Anyway, I will do exactly as you, go out this weekend, starting tonight, and let it all go. I want to feel a sense of relief, not suffocation! Congratulations on passing your test, you and everyone else really knew you could do it!
  6. first off, congratulations! you are an inspiration to me, for i wear the shoes you have just stepped out of! my third attempt at this is in june, on the 6th, (as i deep breath, realizing i am already holding it!). i graduated in 2002 and failed that summer. i waited 3 years to take it again, and failed another time, after sludging through 260 questions. i can still see myself as if watching from across the room how i felt when i saw my failure again. it has taken until now to believe in me and to tackle this bloody thing. luckily i live in california and i have that option to take it over and over. some states only allow you so many years after you graduate to succeed. anyway, your entry was very encouraging. i am doing my best to refresh...most tests i take from the book i am getting 70% correct, but i am learning quickly it doesn't really matter where those scores are right now. i can't wait to trade in my test retaking shoes for a new pair like yours! again, my sincere congratulations, you are my first hero on allnurses, (i just joined tonight):bowingpur
