  1. Prereq's: A&P I - 4 Credits A&P II - 4 Credits Microbiology - 4 Credits English - 3 Credits Math - 3 Credits Sociology - 3 Credits Psychology - 3 Credits Humanities - 3 Credits Human Growth & Dev - 3 Credits (Total of 30 Credits) Grades: A = 4, B=3, C=2 NOTE: ALL A's will get you 120 total points for academics There are only 3 sections from the PNAT test that will be used for the point system which gives you the rest of the 120. Use the raw scores from: 1. Reading Comprehension 2. Academic Aptitude 3. Natural Science Add the the 3 scores together and multipy by .64 Combine the Academic & the PNAT calculated points together will give you the quality points. (so if you were to score perfectly on both, 120 pts from Academic & 120 pts from PNAT, your quality points should total 240.) I think the cut off is around 185....depending on the other applicants...so I would try to aim higher than that if you can. There is also a bonus if you already work for the healthcare, like 20 pts per year working...not sure how that goes. Hope that helps & Good Luck!:typing
  2. there are some pros and cons about it: pros: 1. depending on your unit, there should be plenty of overtime 2. weekend nights have great differentials 3. not too bad of a location (depending on where you live) 4. not that big and patient load isn't too bad cons: 1. DOC (department of corrections has a contract with memorial) - so you have to take care of some really bad shape folks 2. some doctors do not treat nurses with respect 3. not the cleanest hospital i've seen =T 4. not a research hospital nor a teaching hospital soo...if you really want a place where you will have lots of work to do...then memorial is a good place... if you are are coming from a place like Duke University hospital...then this truly is NOT what you are looking for...:typing
