  1. Can someone answer these questions, thank you. 1.What resources are available to the palliative care nurse to learn about new medical technologies? 2.What resources provide ethical decision-making resources to the palliative care nurse? (10 points)
  2. This is a general concern of mine. Nothing really to do with class. I know that there are ethical principles in conflict in such a situation but I'm having difficulty figuring them out.
  3. I understand there is a vast amount of info on this topic, but, can you please help me answer the above questions.
  4. Hey guys, Lets say i was a mother of a patient and my daughter had leukemia. But, the doctors say that stem cell research can be used to save my daughter's life. I ask the nurse what i should do? 1) What ethical principles are associated with such a scenario? (like autonomy vs nonmaleficence) 2) Also, can anyone maybe refer me to a book or website that talks about the nursing ethical issues with stem cell. Please help answer the above questions... Thanks to everyone who responds.

  6. Hey guys, What is the difference between Public Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing? Also, please provide an example of public health nursing and community health nursing that would be great. Thanks to everyone who comments.

  8. Hey guys, I am writing a paper on Palliative care and Case Management. My focus will mainly be on how we need more Case Management in palliative care as this will help reduce cost while provide effective care. My problem is, my professor wants me to include a brief history of Case Management in Palliative Care. Like when did case management begin in Palliative/Hospice care. Who started case management in Hospice/Palliative care. I cannot find any history though. I found individual history of when Case management started and individually when Hospice care started but nothing that ties the two together. Can anyone please direct me to the history of case management in Hospice/Palliative care. Thanks soo much...

  11. Sadly my friend, I feel the same way. I got up from that test completely and utterly positive I messed up BIG time. But, also, i cant really believe in the failure because, honestly, I did give it 110%. I had 75 questions and I think that took me about 3 hours to do. 75 questions in 3 hours........Yeah, i know what your thinking, thats Nutsss...But again, i wanted to give the test my full attention and I think i totally did that. Now i am a quick test taker. I can do a set of 100 questions probably in 45 minutes maybe 50. But the Nclex was murder. I mean the answers were soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo messed up. These people make the exam so tricky. I was once told by a friend that the Nclex is easy because they make it very easy to choose the right answer. I think she was wrong because, I dont know what Nclex she took, but my Nclex was NOT, and i mean NOT easy to choose the right answer. Well, maybe its because i was doing sooo well that it gave me powerhouse questions. Maybe, it is a possibility. But, wow, im just so tired of this waiting. This is not fair. I dont care who they are, these people want us to FAIL, and if we pass, then they want to torture us psychologically until we FAIL mentally. I'm through with the mind games. I cannot get past the register screen so im guessing thats a good thing. I think it stands that those who CANNOT register (meaning those that cannot get the credit card page) probably did pass. This is a flaw in the pearson system. Good for them those **nice** people (cough). Good Luck to all....I will know in 9 hours....
  12. By the way, Congratulations to each and every one of you who passed. The test is NOT simple, it is NOT common sense as a lot of people told me, and it ABSOLUTELY is nothing like you have ever seen before, including the tests in Nursing School. Having said that, if you havent taken the exam yet, do not panic. Just be prepared that it is NOT what you think it is. It WILL and i mean WILL CrUSh you if you are not well prepared. HAving said that, Congratulations once again to all who passed. I know what you went through. For those that didn't pass, relax. You have the upper hand in a way cuz you know what will be on it the next time u site. Its not that hard if you know what to focus on and this is Y soooooo many people pass the second time. U have to know how to pick your battles. ANyways congratulations once again even those who didnt make it yet i still congratulate you because u WILL make it. Here's hoping that i passedd tomorrow.....THis iS Torture...
  13. this is utter TORTUre. What the HECK is wrong with these pearson people. They have NOOOOOOOO heart. Why make us wait in pain and agony and make us raise our cortisone levels through the roof....... They are not human, I am sure of it. Anyways, on the up side, i took my NCLEX yesterday, the 4th, and I have about 12 hours left until i can get quick results. The test stopped at 75 questions. I got up from the exam, VERY, VERY, uncertain of where i stood. The first thought was obvisuoly that i failed and i still believe in this only because its mucchhh more safer to say that you failed and then hear that you passed rather than saying that you passed and then have your hopes crushed, which in my opinion is much more devestating. But, honestly, I have no idea how i did. I dont even remember anything. It was definitaly a VERY VERY hard exam especially if you didnt study infection control. But anyways, I tried the trick the second i can home, probably 2 hours after my exam and thank goodness its not letting me register. No i dont know what that means but i do think it definitaly has some ground to it, both rationally and hypothetically. Heres hoping that I passed this NIGHTMARE of an exam.... P.S. I'll come back tommorrow with my result and with my testimonial for this trick, though i do think its true......
  14. How do u think you did on the exam TLCNurse? I think people around here say that if you cannot register its a good indicator that you passed. Also, it says that we should contact our member board....I think it means the Nursing Board...meaning you are already and RN and do not need to take another exam. Now, this is only a myth. It's not really proven but there were Many, and i mean MANY people who said that this is true, that if you CANNOT register, you passed. I got the same message. I'm not sure what to think. I'm at a lost just like you. Let me know what happens...
  15. So did you pass? Its been a few days now. I'm sure you did fine. :)
  16. The agony of waiting for my results is KILLING me. I get quick results so it should be up in 48 hours. THIS IS TORTURE. I tried the pearsone trick and it Would NOT let me register. Hopefully, this means a good thing. I have like 8 SATA, many, many drug questions that my head was spinning from, and one ordered response which i probably got wrong. ....I'm so nervous....
  17. Yeah, I also took the Nclex today. O........M.........G......it was sooooooooo hard. I had like 8 Select all that apply (SATA), many drug questions i cant even remember, and one ordered response. I tried the pearsonvue trick and its NOT letting me register again. Hopefully, according to what people say, this means I passed......
  18. HeY guys. I'm finally taking my Nclex exam tomorrow. I kind of feel prepared and kind of unprepared. I mean, there are soooo many topics this exam can throw at me so Its nearly impossible to remember everything. I'm hoping the test will throw basic questions like what to do first, who to see first. All in all, I think I'm ready as I'll ever be. It's been a long and hard road, hopefully it all ends tomorrow with my Passing The Boards!!
  19. Can someone help me out. I'm trying to find a good way to study for the Nclex but i don't know which review actually mimics the Nclex. I heard from some people that the Nclex is VERY similar to the Saunders review, both in its content and analysis. However there are others that say the Nclex is Much harder than the traditional study tools such as Saunders, Nclex 3500, Nclex 4000, Springhouse, etc. Anyone who has taken the Nclex please give your HONEST opinion as to what you think Mimics the Nclex. Thanks...
  20. VeryTLC Nurse---> u got 70% on the saunders quizes. How many questions did u take to get that score on each quiz? By quiz do u mean quiz or a comprehensive test? Like each quiz is 10 questions? More Q's? less Q's?
  21. Kaplan Qbank is basically an online resource of questions. U have to buy it from Kaplan or take a Kaplan course around 400$ and its included with it. So, are you guys saying that 70% on Saunders with 75 questions is a bad score?
  22. Hey guys, I am going to take the Nclex next month and I finished taking Kaplan. My Qbank scores were in the 50's. I was just wondering, has anyone else taking other methods of studying other than Kaplan. If so, what were your scores? For example, I just took a Saunders (4th ed) comprehensive exam using the cd. I took 75 questions and i Scored 70%, wayyy better than on Kaplan. I think i got about 15 wrong out of 75 which is excellent seeing that Nclex is based on how many u got right. So if anyone took these Nclex 3500 or 4000 or some other study method, what were your scores? Also, for those who took the Nclex before, is it more like Kaplan or Saunders? I find Saunders Much, Much easier. Thanks again guys!
  23. No, no, no.....I am not asking for the test bank. I am asking for those type of questions. I need an example as to how physical assessment questions are asked. I thought that maybe someone has sample questions of some sort so that i could get an idea. I already watched the bates tapes. Truth is, they weren't much help plus my teacher said that the questions will be based on the book not the tapes. Maybe there is a companion website where i can view these type of questions??
  24. Hey guys, I'm currently taking a physical assessment course in school. We are having a midterm and my prof. said that the questions are based off of the Bates physical assessment 9th ed book. However, I searched all over the internet and I cannot find any questions to study for my midterm. I have no idea how physical assessment questions are asked. Can somebody please help me find questions that test your knowledge of physical assessments. (head to toe) Or does anybody have access to the Bates test bank of questions. I'm at such a loss, please Help...
