  4. I wanted to know if you all would be interested in exchanging information: emails, FB, or whatever so we can stay in touch?
  5. Just curious to know it anyone in this thread get accepted! Don't give up! I pm you Amber.
  6. Hi, I will be starting in January as well.
  7. Thank you illcleff! MskateeRN I must say you have strong determination and great experience under your belt! Now that's modivation for Me and others. apparently your Recommenders feel that you are a great nurse and will do great in being a NP. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Those schools or that perfect job just wasn't ready for you yet! Please keep us updated! Best of luck!
  8. Thank you! I will start Spring. And UC stands for university of Cincinnati
  9. I got accepted at UC graduate program for FNP(screaming) yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!! OMG it was the longest 13 weeks of my life. Hahaha. I hope to hear good news from others as well. Thanks again everyone for your feedback and words of encouragement and advice!
  10. Thanks everyone! This is exactly the kind of things I need to hear. I appreciate the ideas and different ways to going about becoming a NP. Will keep everyone posted and looking to hear from you all as well!
  11. Thank you so much! Will definitely get back out and start applying! One of my coworkers just got into Frontier and she also told me to apply, I think I will and check out the other programs.
  12. I Soooo agree! To ask a professor to fill out several online forms is hard. The two schools I applied to, I had to check in every few weeks to remind them to fill It out! Wow a 3.85 and you didnt get in? Like seriously what are they looking for. My GPA is a 3.0, I have been in nursing for 9 years in different areas, volunteered for awhile at a free health clinic. I hope you will hear good news soon! It's such a huge disappointment especially when I didn't have this issue as an undergrad.
  13. Yes and their denial letter sucks:( Everyday the Admission Counselor was calling, giving updates and I feel like the least thing he could have done was follow up and "close" the relationship. He kept pushing me to get everything done, was there thru every step and then nothing. I keep telling myself it was extremely expensive and perhaps the Universe has other plans for me... Well I guess it's obvious it does. I am listening to others here and soon as I get out of this dump I will apply to other schools. I just hope UC gives me an answer soon... And if it's negative then I will apply out the ass until I need fecal bag and somebody accepts me! Lol. Good luck to you!
  14. Thanks everyone! This definitely gives me hope! I dislike constantly going to my recommenders asking for letters:( Will keep everyone updated! Good news soon to come. Happy Nurses Week by the way:-)
  15. No I haven't. About to go to their website now. Thank you!
  16. Thank you! UNIV of Cincinnatj takes up to 12 weeks to respond. It's a bit nerve racking. I found out about Georgetown within a few weeks. Being patient yet wondering if I should apply to other schools. Thanks again for responding.
  17. Greetings! Soooo after Georgetown kept haunting me to apply, I ended up not getting accepted. Waiting on Univ of Cincinnati (online) acceptance. I never knew graduate school would be this hard to get into. I never had issues with applying to a school I wanted and getting accepted. Feeling down, and needing a little encouragement.
  18. HI, I am looking to relocate to Hayward California. Thinking about taking a traveller assignment there before i make the big official move. But anyway, my question is how is Hayward California, can you tell me of some hospitals in the area. I have 3.5 years of nursing experience with a strong Neuro background. How is the pay there? Can i live off of a nurses salary with one son, in Hayward Cali? What is rent like, crime, traffic, is Hayward really big,etc thank you so much:clown:
  19. when you swear up and down that the pt is regarding you or is with it,when the glas. scale says otherwise.. its so freaky, they look you dead in your eye!!
  20. When you come home everyday and realize how blessed you are to live another day, when you see young adults come in with new brain tumors, glio, etc., or even a trauma event
  21. that sounds wonderful... congrats on finding your niche! [
  22. thanks for the quick response, we want to move to georgia, because of georgia tech. university. in regards to my husband, he wants to go NOW, but my mother is telling me to wait a year so that it is something stable on my resume. i am told by my other coworkers, who dont know that i am leaving, that our manager doesn't give recommendations if you leave before 1 year.... my husband may have a better chance of getting accepted into ga.tech if we are ga residents...and that takes a year to do.. but that is REALLY where he wants to go.... i just want to go due to the cheaper cost of living and so that my dh can get into school and start making money :) thanks...
  23. Greetings to All I have a question, but first background info I am a new grad, i have been working for about 6 months now. my husband and i want to relocate due to lower cost of living, my dh being accepted into the university, etc. i wanted to know is it fair for me to want to leave now, or should i wait another 6 months to go, to complete a year? when is the best time to leave the unit/hospital? thank you in advance for your replies
  24. this is good, i want to read more!!! also i know you mentioned that Daniel has some swelling, depending on the level of swellling, the Docs, remove the bone flap (like part of the skull) to allow the brain enough area to swell. and there is usally a sign above the patient's bed that says, 'no bone flap on the left side' our doctors place the bone flap in the abdomen. the pt also has periods where they are sweating up a storm... they have reflexes that the family think is voluntary by the pt, and it isn't... for example the family member will grab their hand, and think that the pt is trying to hold it, when really it is just their muscles probally relaxing. the pt, can not follow you with their eyes, the body is so flaccid, this is all i can think of.. i am a new grad that works in neuro, and it sooooooooooooooooo interesting yet very complexed write more please!!!
  25. ok, thank you all so much for the advice, naturally when i am ready to confront this 'bully' he is out for a week. but i will practice in the mirror what i will say to him. i think he is borderline bipolar or something, because when he is really angry he will repeat phrases that he probally learned in a therapy for aggressive personalities, and just throws a little tantrum right then and there, i will need back up in case he wants to act out. i also found out this will be his last month as well...but there is noway i will allow him to leave without me standing up for myself. thanks so much for your advice, and i will keep you all posted.
