Is it to late for me to become a Nurse?
You should never let anyone talk you out of your dreams! Go for it!!! I am a male nurse. I got my liscence at 38. I know other men who went back to school when they were in their 50's. Age is not a factor, passion is!!!

What do you wish you were told on the first day?
1) I wish they had told us that it may not always be easy to get a job at first. 2) That nursing though it can be rewarding has the potential for much abuse. (I already knew this from 10 years of CNA work but it is nice to have a heads up for those who don't know) 3) And most importantly that you don't need to start in a hospital at first though some may learn alot from it just getting a job some times is hard enough. Let nursing students know that any experience at first is good experience.

New Grad Freaking out about jobs
I graduated in New Mexico and went to and went to San Antonio. The market there is flooded with influx of nursing schools and when I came back here to "needy" state they aren't accepting apps at hospital I worked as intern for 3 months. Stay away from San Antonio, TX. I don't know about Austin or Dallas but do some research before moving.

Late career choice @ 35
I am now 38 and just passed my boards. This is an exciting opportunity. If you love nursing and want to make a difference I have seen people in their fifties in nursing school. Don't give up because of age. I was in school with 3 people in their 50s and they all graduated. The fact that you want to be a nurse and make a difference is key. There are those in nursing just in it for the money. I realized taking my boards the second time that I had to focus on the skills I had not the fears about error or the money I would make. Keep a good focus and don't let anyone subvert you. Your passion will drive you and your compassion and caring will be your reason for going on. Age is just a number. My mom is 68 and still doing nursing work. Keep on trucking! Naren Giguere RN

Is Peds really for me?
I am a 4th semester male nursing student and am looking strongly at doing peds. I loved my clinical rotation last semester and have heard that males are needed and that in general they are always looking for people in pediatric care. Trust your heart. If you second guess your gut you always get in trouble. Do what you love!

Fear nursing dx
Sorry, I didn't even put my nursing dx. My professor relayed her issue as Fear of loneliness so I was going to use fear. That is really what kept her up most of the night. What I really need though is a way to figure out 6 interventions for fear (of loneliness) related to night time (lack of sleep) .

Fear nursing dx
I am trying to find evidence base for a patient with loneliness (that causes lack of sleep) without a roomate. I got through two diagnoses for this care plan but this one part requires 6 interventions as well:banghead: Help:bow:
