CCCCD clinicals: Clinicals are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You have to report at 0645 to your hospital. You are assigned your hospital in advance and it is posted near the Nursing office. I have never heard of anyone switching. Regardless, you would have to be at your hospital at 0645. Very few people work fulltime. It is recommended to work 20 hours at the most IF you must. In the 2nd semester, part of our clinical rotation will be at a site in Terrell (I believe that is correct). It is two hours away. Hope that helps a little. You can always contact the Nursing office and ask them specific questions if you'd like.

Tks for reply. Question, do you have prior experience working as a CNA before you started at the hospital? Now that you work in the hospital, have you seen any CNA's with licensure but no experience. I do have patient experience- work as Ophthalmic tech and have some dental background. Just want to know if the PCTs they hire all have experience or not..... Thanks again for quick reply, it is helpful.

Would I be wise/ahead if I find a job working over the summer as a CNA before my ADN program starts in Aug? I work as an ophthalmic tech w/lots of other life experience. Can handle (most) anything-ha. Any suggestions? Nursing homes or what? Thanks- non practicing CNA

Question regarding work history: 1 yr ago I applied & was working the next day as an adult sitter at a senior living facility w/no training or experience. I arrived very nervous about having to change this mans diapers. I figured out how to change him & techs would come in throughtout the day to have me hold his breathing treatments in for him among other routine things. The girl that hired me said that if I had chemistry w/him to let her know and that she would put me on the schedule as his sitter. I did not call her for a week as I feeling terrible about being no training and it just felt wrong. I did not know what to do. The next week I was called by the supervisor & he was yelling that I had not shown up to sit for the man that that day, but I never called & said that I had chemistry w/him & wanted to be his sitter- yet they still put me on his schedule! Upset I apoloigized & said I could not work for them, I just could not do what they needed me to do. Now this past yr have been working as an Ophth tech, received my CNA license & accepted in an accredited ADN-RN program starting in Aug. I have an excellent reputation & have 8 yrs of honorable military service. Question: Do I have to put that 1 day down for work history for my background & work histories for my future jobs? Will that 1 day show up in my background? This is now haunting me.... Tks for reading and replying....
