I have had an interview with the NSLIJ recruiter before (although not for the fellowship) and I would say to dress very professionally and be prepared to answer behavioral interview questions. I was asked "Describe a situation where I have gone above and beyond for the patient" and I forget the exact phrasing of the second one but basically it was "Describe a time where you were at a crossroads and explain why you chose the decision that you did". Hope that helps!! Your interview may/may not be tougher/longer since you are applying for a more desired position, so I hope you get feedback from those who did interview for the fellowship. I'm a nursing student who is going to graduate in May (can't believe it!). Anyway, I was interested in getting my certification as a lactation counselor (something else to add to my resume) since I'm interested in working in Postpartum after graduation. I have looked at several websites but can't find anything in the New York City area (which can't be right.... lol). So if anyone has gotten their certification as a lactation counselor or knows of an organization which offers it, please help! thank you so much!!!!!!

I work as a per diem CNA at LISVH. I make 14.35/hr. PT and FT make a little less because they get benefits. I think SBUH CNAs also make around the same amount.

for those of you out there with old-fashioned drug books, any recommendations/comments on mosbys vs. davis vs. lippincott?? i'm a first semester student and honestly, i dont mind lugging around a book. i've considered PDAs and those programs, but at this point, i feel like its too much of an inverstment for me. thanks for the help!!:loveya:

i need a double bell steth for nursing school and from the thread i see that is either a littmann classic II or cardio III. i think i will go with the cardio III since i've read better reviews abt it. any other options for double bell steths? and can someone confirm that the master classic II and master cardiology indeed are NOT double bell? thanks!!

hey there, i attended a cna program offered by the li state vets home in stony brook. even though i work per diem, they do offer medical/dental i believe to part time workers. i'm not too sure if that's for every nursing home tho. i suppose u can just call up the places u want to work the most and ask them :)

i was just accepted in to nursing school, so i haven't started yet, but i'm sure u all remember the dreaded pre-requisites.. lol my mantra, because i live in nyc and want to work there, preferably ny presbyterian.. New York Presbyterian Doesn’t Take Sissy Nurses. i have it on sticky notes all over my binders and planner, so i alwayssss self-motivate myself. if u want the best, u have to earn it. good luck
