  1. I am considering it. Depends on if I get a yes from the University of Pittsburgh or not. Good luck to you!
  2. How did everyone's interview go?
  3. Lots of tell us about a time when type questions. What are your strengths/weaknesses, etc. Have your stories ready and you will do fine! Good luck!!
  4. I received mine via email on 1/11.
  5. It's hard for me to find a valid comparison as every school has a different price, even in the same town. You have a very valid argument. I had not considered having my employer pay for the DNP, my current facility doesn't offer tuition reimbursement to RN's, possibly different for CRNA's. I personally hate working and going to school. I want it over and finished so I can enjoy life! With my goal of leaving the repressed south and opening my own company, getting it finished all at once feels best for me. Thanks for the thoughts!
  6. 20-22 fall and sprin .
  7. Working HH is why I can rock wound care and wound vacs!
  8. I crossed the line for this reason, to allow the union nurses to strike! Their demands were falling on deaf ears. The hospital had to put out a boat load of $$. Strike was over and settled in 2 days! Kudos to the unions. I wish we had a nationwide nurses union. Us southerners get the shaft.
  9. I worked PRN at a place that did this. They faxed a basic sheet...which was always wrong...and would just show up with a pt., drop them and say good luck! Pt. never able to give info., and no family. Admitting diagnosis something like altered mental status. Pt would be drug crazy and needing 4 points. No orders and no nurse willing to give info when I would call for an actual report. Just read the paper. Nurse to nurse report is, for me, a professional duty. I can tell you way more than that paper ever will.
  10. National Nurses United | Patient Advocacy Coalition for Safe RN Staffing Ratios Let's have everyone sign the petition for safe staffing!
  11. Home Health is a great alternative to bedside nursing. You actually get to talk to your patients, educate them, and see them improve. They hours are nice and the pay is as well. I have worked both at bedside and in home health. I am currently in an ICU an have applied to CRNA school!
  12. Is anyone planning on calling or texting tomorrow or Friday?
  13. December for early interviews and February for all others. I believe it is the 17th-19th of Feb.
  14. If I have my choice I will go for the DNAP. Why? Overall less time and money. I can finish in 3yrs. as compared to 5yrs. as it takes 2.5yrs. post masters to gain the DNAP
  15. I doubt we will hear anything before the end of the week. (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) said all the scores had to be put together and the selections sent to the Dean.
