Im so sorry to hear that you failed. i took my exam for nclex-pn in january and found out i failed. it was horrible. but you made it through nursing school and you WILL be a nurse and pass the nclex. the second time around, i passed. i did the saunders cd and was doing about 100 questions per day. i also bought a kaplan review book. it was cheap, about 20 dollars. it has some questions but it is mostly strategies to help you answer the questions correctly. always use your ABC's, maslow and the nursing process. kaplan also has a passing score guarantee or you get a refund. hope this helps. good luck.

the cd is divided into sections like the nclex. each portion is worth a certain percent. for example...pyschosocial is worth ____% and when you use the cd, there is like 1000 questions just for that section. the entire cd is that way. it really helped me.

well, i took my first nclex in january and failed. it wasnt like any test i have ever taken and i know alot of people say that. we had a review at school and a practice nclex which i scored above average on. so i went into the test not worrying about it because i thought i would do fine. and i failed. once i found out that i failed, i knew i would have to try a different study technique because the one i used the first time obviously didnt work. so the second time around, i used a saunders nclex review book and it comes with a cd that i did everyday. i tried to do 100 questions everyday. on top of using that, i bought a kaplan review book for nclex. i didnt really do the questions in it but it has alot of strategies on how to correctly answer the answer and understand what the question is asking. the second time i went into the test, the questions again were just off the wall stuff that you dont look at. my very first question was a nutrition question which is somethign i didnt even look at. but this time around, I PASSED! i cut off at 85 questions. when you leave there, everyone feels like they failed. but most of them pass. the way i see it, if you can get through nursing school, then you can pass the test. i hope this helps and let me know if i can help with anything else.

i can clarify this for you. i know from a personal experience. when you graduate, you have a temp permit that allows you to work as a gvn or gn. if you fail your test, you automatically lose acces to your permit and can no longer work as gvn/gn. if you fail nclex, once you reapply, you DO NOT get another pemit to work with. you cant work anymore until after you pass your test. most places will let you still continue to work but in a different position. for example, i failed my nclex the first time and was changed to position of ward clerk where i put in orders, made follow up appts, stuff like there. but your salary will definetly change. hope this helps. let me know if you have any more questions.

i work at a hospital in texas and here we have several people that are agency and full time but you just cant work for the same place. if you work full time at place A, you cant be an agency nurse at place A. hope this helps.

yeah i know what you mean. before i failed my test i was working with my permit and the hospital i am working for started us off at 13 but i worked nights so i made 15 and i have 6 pts max. some others went to work at a nursing home but i think the most that one made was 17.50/hr and then they have like 18 pts. i just dont think i could do anything with that many patients.

are you working at a hospital or different type work?

when i finished school, i had a permit i could work with for 90 days but when i failed my nclex, it got removed from the BNE website and i could no longer work as a gvn. does anyone know why today my permit would be back on the BNE website?

hey everyone. i am new to the website so im not sure how all of this works. i have a question that maybe someone can answer. i finished LVN school in december of 07 and took my nclex in jan only to find out that i didnt pass. i live in texas and here you have to wait 45 days to test again. when you fail your nclex in texas, you lose acess to your permit to work as a graduate vocational nurse. so i studied every single day and took my test again yesterday. we have the quick results here so i should find out at 8am tomorrow. just have a question. i stopped at 85 and feel like i was guessing at alot. well i have checked the website about 100 times today and my results are still not ready. i went to look on the BNE website and my license isnt on there, but my permit is back on there. im wondering if anyone has some advice on what this means or any advice at all that would help.
