  1. If you know it's what you want to do, then I say go for it! I just graduated in May and am currently working mother/baby and I have NO regrets and I am loving every minute of it! I am getting trained as if I knew absolutely nothing about mother/baby coming into it, so that has been really helpful! I too hated med/surg in school so the decision was easily made for me. The wonderful thing about nursing is that you can always change if you try something and it doesn't feel right to you. You are never stuck in just one area. Best wishes to you in your final months of school and good luck making your decision! :heartbeat
  2. Congratulations on your success in becoming an RN newgrad0508! Best of luck to you in your new career!
  3. Thank you so so much amber! You can totally pass this test girl, and I know you can! You have been doing so awesome on kaplan, so hang in there! Not too much more to go and you too can soon say your an RN! We already all know you are one! My thoughts and prayers will be with you, so stay positive and try to relax and remember to breathe and take a break during your test!
  4. Thanks so much fun2care and congrats again to you on becoming an RN as well! Best of luck to you in your new career!!
  5. Thanks so much EDNurse2009! You can totally pass this test! Just hang in there and keep positive! All your hard work and studying will soon pay off! Best of luck to you! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers! :heartbeat
  6. YAY need to be!!!!!! Congratulations! I am so happy for you! I KNEW THAT WE COULD DO IT! I'm so glad that we got through this together! NO MORE TESTS-ever!!!!!! Cheers to you and here's to being RN's! :heartbeat
  7. Thank you so much jen and icu2008! Congratulations to the both of you as well! We did it!
  8. Thank you so much, jazzymika!! I know that you can pass this test! Hang in there- only a few more days of studying and it will soon be over! I think that the question trainers were more beneficial for me. If you can do both though, I'd do so because it was all helpful. If not, then really focus on the question trainers! Best of luck to you! You will be in my thoughts and prayers!
  9. Good luck, DMAE! Just try to keep yourself busy and distracted and hopefully the time will fly by! I'm sure you did just fine!
  10. By the grace and glory of God....I PASSED! I just found out and I am an RN and it feels SOOOOOOOOOO great!!! Thank you thank you thank you to all of you amazing people who helped keep me positive and sane throughout this whole experience!!!! I have to try to get to sleep now haha I have to work as an RN tonight!!!! :heartbeat
  11. My BON is soooo slow at updating. I have friends who took their boards about 2 weeks ago and their names STILL aren't showing up on the website, so it looks like pearsonvue is going to be my only option right now! I'm at work right now and we are soooooo slow which is making the night drag on even more! My preceptor is going to make me check pearsonvue at midnight, even though I'm almost positive the results won't be up! I'm too scared to check at work...so I might just wait until the morning! Best of luck to you! I can't wait to hear from you in the morning!
  12. Hey need to be! I had you in my thoughts all day yesterday! Your test sounds so much better than mine! I think it's great news that your last question was a priority one! I don't know what to think at this point either, but all we can do is wait! What's done is done! I'm really hoping that we don't have to wait two business days and wait until Tuesday! I'll go insane! I hope you find great results and I am sure that you will be telling us your an RN here soon! Hang in there as well and just try to stay distracted and busy! I had a WHOLE pitcher of sangria to MYSELF last night! LOL My waitress thought I was crazy and wasn't allowed to give me a whole pitcher but when I told her my situation she gave in and let me have it! It was pretty great! I have to work the next three nights, which totally sucks, but oh well! Whatever I can do to keep my mind off this nasty test! Good luck, girl! I'll be anxious to hear good news from you! Have a great next couple of days! :heartbeat
  13. Ok, so I just looked on the quick review results page that pearonvue e-mailed me when I got my ATT and it says two business days from the time you take your test...well, since I tested on a Saturday does that mean I am going to have to wait until TUESDAY to get my results?!?! If thats the case, I'm going to seriously go crazy! Thanks to everyone for trying to keep my spirits up about this test! It was the most awful thing ever and I just pray that I passed because I really don't want to have to sit through that again! Well, the waiting game is still on and it sounds to me like it's going to be going on for a lot longer than I thought! I'll keep you all up to date! Thanks again! :heartbeat
  14. Well, I just got home from taking it....got 75 questions and I feel HORRIBLE! I KNOW 100% for sure that I failed...my last 4 or 5 questions seemed a lot easier than they should have been which is a bad sign. I didn't feel confident answering any of the questions which totally sucks! The strategies that kaplan teaches only helped for about 2 questions! I had about 15-20 SATA, 2-3 drug cals and a TON of meds and very little priority which is also another bad sign.... All I can do is wait and hope and pray for the best! My friend is taking me shopping and to lunch today to keep my mind off of it, so that will be nice, then I plan to have some drinks tonight with some other friends! I work tomorrow night which will be good and keep me busy...Monday morning can't come fast enough! Thanks again for all of your continued prayers, support and encouragement! I still have faith that I'll be telling you guys on Monday morning that I'm an RN! Have a great weekend and best of luck to those who still have to take the test!
  15. Well, it's officially my test day! I test in two hours and counting! I didn't get a full nights rest, that's for sure but I think my body will just ride on adrenaline! I just had to get on here and say thank you to everyone for all of the ongoing support you have provided me with! This is probably one of the hardest days of my life and I could not have made it to this point without everyone! I love it that we are strangers who have come together in support and encouragement because of one thing in common- it's pretty amazing if you ask me! Well, as usual, please continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers today as I face the beast! I'll let you guys know how it goes! GOOD LUCK to everyone else testing today! Let's rock this test out and prove that we ARE RN's!! God Bless and my thoughts are with all of you! :heartbeat
  16. Girl, you are going to be just fine with a 66%! I wish I could have gotten that score, but oh well! NCLEX here I come! Hey good guessing skills are much needed on this test, especially if strategies and knowledge can't get ya there! You're going to be great, I know it! Hang in there and keep on rocking with the studying! Please pray for me, cause this time tomorrow, I'll hopefully be an RN!
  17. Congrats on your 61%! I am thinking we will both be fine as well! I'm so glad that you didn't change your date...it was tempting to me as well, but we can do this! I'm starting to get butterflies but know that I've got to just relax. I did the sample test #3 and I got a 90% on it! I was soooo shocked, but felt really good about it! I am about to leave to get my massage and then might come home and do one of the other sample tests and see how I do. I'll let you know if I get to them. I'll probably just be ready for bed after my massage haha. If I don't get back on here tonight, then I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and to tell you that I'm rooting for ya and praying for ya! I'll be anxious to hear from you tomorrow! Just remember to breathe and take a break if you start getting anxious or tired. We will soon be RN's and all of this hard work will pay off! :heartbeat I have been repeating these verses to myself all week long and plan to say them when I get nervous or frustrated during my test tomorrow... "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
  18. Thank you, jazzymika! I don't feel very prepared but I guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow! I think I would start with trainer 1 and then work your way up. From my understanding you are supposed to use 7 as a "mock" NCLEX so to speak, but as long as you get through all of them, I'd say your fine! Thanks for your good luck wishes! I can't believe it's tomorrow Best of luck to you as well!! :heartbeat
  19. I did better on question trainer 6 (69%) than 7 (59%) so I think that 7 is harder. Maybe it was because of the length and I just got distracted and couldn't sit still? I also kept checking this website, checking my e-mail and facebook and myspace pages, so that probably didn't help to keep me focused! HAHA 265 questions is brutal and I pray that neither of us have to sit through that many questions, especially you since you had that many your first time! I too am just expecting to get 265 and am planning to be at the testing center for 6 hours! I am just going to hope for the best! Let me know how you do on question trainer 7! Good luck and I hope you get a good score! :heartbeat
  20. YAY! Congratulations to all of the people who found out today that they passed!!!! You did it!!! :loveya:
  21. I just woke up and am sort of in a panic! I can't believe that it's actually tomorrow! I feel that there is SO much for to me to today but know that it's ridiculous to even try and cram anything else into this brain of mine at this point! OMG I didn't even know that there were sample tests!!!! I just look and saw that I have them! Now I'm even more panicked lol! I guess I know what I'll be doing today! I'll let you know my score when I take it! How'd you do on them? I took Question trainer 7 yesterday and got a 59%...sorta bummed about it, but at this point what can I do other than pray and hope for the best?! Did you take the Kaplan classes with an instructor? How'd you do on the readiness test? I got a 61% on that which said I had a 91% chance on passing the NCLEX and that was 3 weeks ago, so hopefully I have made enough improvements to PASS this beast! I am still feeling a little uncomfortable about pharm and am just praying that I don't get many med questions! :chuckle I'm going to try and do a few things this morning before heading to lunch with friends and beginning my afternoon of pampering! I am praying for you each and every step of the way regardless of time zones and I know that we can and will both pass! Thanks so much for all your support! Have a great day and try to relax and stay calm! Talk to you soon! :loveya:
  22. Welcome to the group, EDNURSE09! Those scores sound great to me and I'm sure you are going to do great! Good luck next week! Just remember to breathe! Best wishes to you! :heartbeat
  23. Actually if you live in CT wouldn't you be finished before me?? I'm so horrible at time zones....so sorry if I'm way off! HAHA Either way, I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for you! You're going to do great! I think that taking a trip to the testing center is a great idea and have heard that suggestion from a lot of people! Its supposed to lessen your anxiety so you know exactly where your going! The testing center here is right by my house, so I don't really need to do a drive by. Your study plan for the rest of your time sounds great too! Hang in there, we are almost DONE and will both soon be R.N.'s! Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers! WE CAN DO THIS! :heartbeat Just remember to breathe!
  24. Well, each question trainer has a different amount of questions. They range from 75-265. Kaplan suggest not doing more than 150 questions per day unless you take the trainer that has over 150. I think keeping with 150 is good because much more than that gets a little overwhelming and its too much info to retain! Good luck with the rest of your studying and of course GOOD LUCK on your test!!! You can and will pass! Best wishes!
  25. I got mine at a Vitamin Cottage, but I am almost positive that they would have it at Whole Foods. I hope you can find some, it works wonders! Good luck to you!
