  1. Has anyone worked for Excella Home Care before? If so, any comments about the work it? I have an interview with them later today.
  2. I am glad when anyone has had or is having a good experience with their job. Gentiva is a national company in over 30 states. I worked in Massachusetts and didn't have a positive experience at all, but good to know that some RN employees have. Maybe the company as a whole is really a good one, and I just didn't work in an office that was a part of that. However, the office I worked in received many awards over the years past and present as being THE office that has generated the most profits/recerts of all the offices, It doesn't take a rocket scientists for figure out how this office generates some much revenue... make sure your documentation is such that the company makes the most money they can from medicare even if it means .... (maybe other Gentiva employees can finish this or dissagree with this)
  3. I recently worked for Gentiva Home care as an RN. I was suppose to work 32 hrs/wk, but was pay per visit and working more like 45hrs/week. I received calls from patients and co-worlkers as late as 9pm and as early as 730am, never knowing when my phone rang if it was some kind of work emergency call of a friend calling to say hello. My phone bill was over $100/month in work calls and everytime I submitted it for reimbursement, it was giving back to me with some new reason I needed to re-submit. I still haven't been paid a cent with 3 months of Gentiva phone bills. My home time was never my own, always doing paperwork. Being on call to them meant working 12 days in a row (I only signed up for 32 hrs/wk) and the mgmt is only interested in making money for themselves, gotta get that bonus. It was a horrible work environment and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
  4. Thanks for the info. I am not far from RI, about 25 minutes. Can I work in RI with a MA license? Any suggestions for good places to apply in RI?
  5. I graduated January 2007 and passed the licensed exam in April. I have been working in a skilled nursing facities for 3 years but have not been able to even get an interview at the hospitals in the Boston and South of Boston area. Does anyone know of any hospitals in these areas that are presently hiring?
