Help!! New grad, can't find a job in Dade/Broward counties
I know of the career fair too! Are you going?! I spoke to a recruiter at broward health and he told me it's the largest fair they have in s. florida every year. He also said that they may look for experienced nurses. Whatevs. I'm still going to try out my chances. I know some Miami hospitals are going too. I'll be there, maybe we can meet up.

Help, Can't get a job anywhere in Miami
Ok, I'm sure you've heard this plenty of times....but I can't obtain a job as a new graduate. I tested and passed my boards since July 29. I am so frustrated and disheartened by this experience. All I do is sit at home and apply and apply. :typing I get real upset when recruiters say, "don't worry, just keep looking" OBVIOUSLY!!! Don't you think I know that by now!!! I've applied to every hospital in Miami-Dade County: Jackson, Baptist, Mercy, Mount-Sinai, Westchester, UM, etc, and it's neighboring county to the north in Broward: Memorial, Broward health, cleveland clinic, holy cross, etc. I can't get a job. I went to a hospital's open house for nurses and even got an interview, then was told they are not hiring anyone right now. What's a new RN to do?! Is anyone else having the same difficulty as I am?!

Anyone from another state taking NCLEX in FL for licensure?
Hey!! I am graduating in May from an accelerated program in St. Louis. I'm from Florida so now I have to hurry up to get these CEUs in to count for the NCLEX exam. I think you should take it in Florida. I say this because not only will you pay for the NY licensing fees but when you decide to come to FL, you'll have to pay an additional amount for reciprocity/endorsement. So why waste the money?! Go to the Board of Nursing for florida website and it'll explain alot.

Question Concerning MDC AO GPA
don't quote me on this one....but awhile back i was taking a prereq class to get into another school's AO program. I asked the professor of that class what is the GPA requirements for MDC AO, he claims that minimum is 2.5. I know it's shocking to me too. But I think you should do fine with what you have. If anything ask another advisor from a different campus regarding their policy on GPA for AO.

I don't know if you prefer the eastern part of the state, but I'm enrolled at SLU's Accelerated nursing program. I can answer any questions that you may have.

UMSL Accelerated/Traditional BSN programs for 2008
Amber, I totally agree with you!! I felt like this was hell week. I woke up this morning feeling literally sick. Now all the assignments that are due next week is another hill to cross. I sit actually on the right side in the front row facing the professor. How do you think the semester is going by so far, along with many of the classmates?

Apartment hunting in St Louis area
The Creamery is going to be an Apartment residence that is located down the street from the medical campus. I've been searching online and it's part of a group of apt residences that are owned by frontdoorstl.com. I wanted to know if leaving my car was do-able. Thanks, now I have more things to think about. Thanks, maggijo on the reply. What do you think about the area on Lindell? A friend also recommended the lofts on Washington Ave. I'm looking for somewhere that is moderately priced but safety would be a priority, too. I heard the program was a good program. It's a big stretch from South Fla. but I'm ready for it. I had to switch my career path. Can someone tell me about life in St. Louis and around the University?! I'm excited and a little nervous, too. (first time moving away from home :aln:) Any and all advice would be appreciated.
