  1. Here's the things I've done so far to study: Rewrote and rewrote notes, read over, and over my notes so many times, made flash cards-review them. met several times with another student to study. We are having a test on our first unit, has 3 chapters, but we already went over unit 2, that test is on Monday, and we already started unit 3, I think the new information I'm learning is staying with me, and I don't have time to process the first unit. They are moving so fast, I know they have alot to teach in 1 year, but I'm really studying.
  2. I started in July 1, 2009. We are in anatomy right now, its hard and I can cry, nothing is sinking in my head. Major test tomorrow. I need to learn how to study the right way, any suggestions?
  3. I actually made it into the program started in July, If I can make it through anatomy, I'll be happy. any suggestions?
  4. Actually i just started lpn program july 1, 2009. I have memmler's the human body in health and disease 11th edition by lippincott. We have our first test coming up next week on 4 chapters, hopefully i can remember it all. I've been out of school for awhile. Any study suggestions
  5. I'm an older adult who just started LPN program in July, I'm actually 44 years old trying to relearn about studying. Our first classes are: Anatomy and Social science I ( opt out of) because I'm a CNA, which gives more time with Anatomy, We are doing (Memmler's The Human Body in Health and Disease edition 11). How is the best way to study and pass this class, our first test is coming up in 2 weeks. Any pointers or suggestions would really help.
  6. I'm an older adult going back to school, I just got accepted into the nursing program. They gave us summer work to do and I'm a little stuck and maybe someone can help me. We need to do drug cards and I thought maybe someone can help me with one and I can go with that. They gave us a list of 80 drugs and here's 1 of them. I would really like your help. Here it is: Prozac Classification Generic name trade name action use dosage side effects adverse effects contraindications nursing considerations patient education antidote
  7. Thanks for the reply, I am a CNA and I work for long term. I did talk to the instructor on Thursday, she said I scored high on my interview testing and they really liked me, they told me that they had to make some decisions on choices. But anyways last year they told us they chose 32 students for the class and I don't know how many alternates they picked. but they picked 13 alternates last year for the class. and I'm alternate # 6 for the 2009 class.
  8. Hello, I just wanted to give an update, I'm just not having any luck getting in to an LPN program, received my letter in April 2009, didn't get in but again I was chosen as an alternate, talked to the instructor, alternate number 6, taking only 27, I was chosen as an alternate for the other program in Buckhannon, WV. Was alternate number 6 there also in January 2009. I guess my chances are slim getting into this program. Has anyone ever been chosen as an alternate for this program at UTC in Clarksburg?
  9. 1 more thing when they interview do they interview by lowest score to the highest, by highest to lowest, or do they interview ABC order? Someone also told they take people on assitant first, is this true?
  10. To no prevail I didn't get into a LPN nursing program being an alternate, so I applied At UTC in Clarksburg, took the TEAS test and now I'm granted an interview, but from what I hear they interview so many people, and they still only take the top 30-40 people, why do they interview so many if they already have their minds made up? I have no idea about my scores and where I stand. Has anyone ever attended this program before and what kind of question they do ask. I'm actually an older adult trying to go back to school. I just want to be prepare, even though my chances are slim.
  11. They had 5 people decline about starting the LPN program before it started, I'm the next one up and school started today January 5, 2009, haven't received phone call yet, 4 days left to go, they have until January 9, 2009 to drop, I sure hope someone drops that first week, so I can go, how many drop their first week?
  12. ANOTHER UPDATE: Today is January 2, 2009, still no news about the LPN program, I'm the next one up, school starts January 5-9, 2009, I'm just waiting on the call to tell me to come to school, 5 people already declined before school started, I'm number 6, now I'm really getting nervous, and wondering if anyone will quit their 1st week, which I hope. what are the odds of anyone quitting their 1st week?
  13. UPDATE: I received a little good news yesterday December 8. They already used 5 alternates and I'm number 6, they have another meeting before Christmas, and school hasn't even started yet, which begins January 5, people still can drop out that week, and I still can go, waiting pon the call, I'm next. I hope.
  14. Fred W Eberle school of Practical Nursing in Buckhannon
  15. I won't know anything until sometime in December, the ones who don't show up and the week of January 5-9, 2009, if they quit their first week
  16. Thanks, this makes me feel a little better. You just have people telling you not to sit around and wait because I'm probably not going to get picked, then on the other hand I have people telling that I will get in. I just hope and pray that I do. I wanted to do this all my life, but didn't have a chance.
  17. I was wondering if anyone was an alternate for their LPN/LVN nursing program, and got in the first week, and also what number were you? The reason I'm asking to see what my chances are, they picked 30 people for the program and 10 alternates, I'm alternate #6. I talked to students who are in the program now and they said they used all 10 alternates the first week. thank You
  18. I was wondering what the drop out rate the first week of school, or people deciding they don't want to do the LPN program, I was trying to figure out my chances of getting in, I'm alternate #6 out of #10.
  19. What is their drop out rate for the school, people changing their minds before it starts or quiting in their first week, do I still have hope?
  20. Well, received my letter today October 25, 2008, I didn't get in to the LPN program was alternate #6, and that means if anyone decides not to be seated or quits the program between January 5-9 2009, I'll be called after the other 5, I thought I was going to cry. I just waited to long for as old as I am.
  21. I went to my interview, and I was so nervous. I don't think I did a very good job, my replies didn't come out the way they should have. I'll know something by the end of October or first of November. I tried, and its something I really want, I hope they see past the nervousness.
  22. Hello, I took the NET nursing test in Buckhannon for the LPN program, got my letter the other day, it said I passed and to come for an interview on October 13, 2008. I was wondering how the interview will go, I'm so nervous because I'm a 44 year old woman, trying to get into a nursing program. Has anyone ever attended the program there? All help is needed. Thanks in Advance
  23. Thank You for your info, I was also considering going to school for medical assistant, becuase actually I'm wanting to work in a doctor's office or a lab, but I'm trying to find the best school, in and around the fairmont, Clarksburg and surrounding area. i was trying to weigh things out, trying to go for the RN would take me so many years, and it would be so hard to get in to. What does everyone in West Virginia think about MAST. Is OIC training place in Fairmont a good place?
  24. I took the test at UTC for the LPN program, scored well on the TEAS, got an interview, didn't get in. years ago I did get in, but found out I was pregnant. Any ways I'm going to try the one in Buckhannon, is it hard to get in there and how hard is the NET test? I was thinking maybe taking a CNA class, to help to get some experience under my belt I'm a 43 year old woman, trying to pursue my dream, their is such a storage for nurses, but it is so hard to get into any program, does anyone have any suggestions?
  25. I'm wanting to go to LPN School, but they won't test for that until September, and then the classes won't start until January 2009, I was wanting to know if it would be a good idea to take a CNA course, its only 12 weeks long, to get some experience under my belt, or should I just wait it out to see if I will pass the test and to see if they will accept me or not, its a hard decision.
