  1. hello everybody; thank all of you so much for your support!! i just got my results back and i passed the nclex. i feel about 30 lbs lighter and a lot less stressed. i had 75 questions and about 8-10 "select all that apply" questions. they were tough ones too. i am sure i missed most if not all of those. at any rate for those of you who have the exam coming up soon; make sure you keep answering questions now matter how tired of them you may be.

  3. I took it in Louisiana
  4. Hello everyone! I took the NCLEX this morning and the exam cut off at 75 questions. I did not know very much I feel and now I have a high level of anxiety. I did have some high level questions. Does anyone have any understanding of how this works. I either did really well or bombed it horribly. I did not think I was doing well at all; but I also didn't think I was doing so poorly that the computer would shut me off at 75 questions.
  5. I think I may have filled the form out incorrectly. I am new to this allnurses website. I thought I was replying to someone else who passed the nclex. I have not passed it yet. I don't take it till April 10th, but to get out of school we had to have a 900 on the hesi exam; we took the Sylvia Rayfield review and I am currently doing the 3 week course at the ncbsn website to prepare for the nclex. So far only one person out of my entire graduating class has failed the nclex and that person didn't attend the review course. Sorry for the misunderstanding!!!

  7. That is really awesome!! I am happy for you.
  8. thanks guys for your responses. i have talked with other nurses; pretty much everyone says the same thing. so i will take the job that i want and genuinely am interested in, instead of wasting a year or two just to end up where i really wanted to be anyway.
  9. in your post i could not quite understand what you are asking; but based on some of the things you stated; i think you are basically describing the situation that i was in. i was in sales for many years and the company i worked for went out of business; so i went to nursing school with no background and no prior medical experience. i did finish nursing school, but i must say it was tough. i guess what you should know is that if you are in nursing school and you reach a certain level usually 3rd or 4th, you should be able to find a job as a tech or a cna. many hospitals will take your nursing school clinical training as experience and hire you. of course its beneficial to them because when you finish school you may want to stay on at that hospital as an rn. i think that is the end goal for most people that do this and the hospitals that hire them. its a win-win many times.
  10. I am a recent graduate nurse; I am getting ready to Start in the O.R. at a Level I trauma center. One of my instructors said that it is not very wise for a graduate RN to start their career in the O.R. because some skills may be lost. Has anyone had this experience? Do you agree or Disagree with this thinking? I am trying to determine if I should take this job in O.R. or maybe do some Med-surg to get my skills up to a more proficient level. I would love to hear any thoughts or opinions on this subject.
  11. where can I buy a littman stethoscope; I start work in a week or do you just order them online?
