  1. I have officially dropped my Anatomy with a W. As for being an audit, I am absolutely sure my teacher will let me stay in class. I dont even need to ask. My teacher and I are in good terms:)
  2. Hey guys! Thanks for your inputs and criticisms. Im deciding to drop it after talking to my mom and much consideration. But I think my friend is trying to talk me through it into not dropping. I'll see what happens. Anatomy class has taught me to be more self disciplined and take better notes, not for Anatomy but for my other classes as well. Before I was enrolled in this class, I didnt think it would be this difficult. After going through it, I give props to all the nurses out there for going through this and achieving your goals of becoming a nurse and helping people! I have enjoyed my time here interacting and reading interesting things. I plan to continue interacting with you all even though I'm not a nurse(who knows...sure Im a Business major but i might be become a nurse in the future :) or BOTH). See you all later! By the way, what is "my two cents"? Ive never heard of that slang but I hear it all the time...
  3. I think Anatomy is very interesting and I learned alot. I do know why this/that happens.....i just dont remember the NAMES of the terms. What I mean of the 45% we get tested on is she would go over everything on the study guide (we get study guides. Study Guide mostly contain vocab terms and sometimes paragraphs of certain materials) and we would read/study/look over on my own as well. But on exam days, we're tested on the 45%, little chunks of materals on every chapter we covered. I know it's good to know EVERYTHING though. But at the same time I wish she would emphasis on what to focus more on.
  4. Wow i hope everything is settled and everyone is fine the way it is before the problem arised. This reminds me the time my immature, lame guy friend freaking targeted me sex questions. I was uncomfortable and couldnt put up with him anymore.
  5. My friend applied for UC Berkeley for Business with a 4.0 GPA as a transfer from CC. All As, nothing lower than that, and she got rejected.
  6. Hi guys well, tomorrow is the last day to drop any class with a W. Today(thursday), I had a lab and lecture exams on Nervous System. I found out I scored a B- on my lecture exam(highest I ever had so far :) ) and a 62% on my lab :(, which puts my class grade at a D. Even harder for me to decide if I should drop. My teacher helped me calculate and said if I get C (worse comes to worse) and do all my assignments (which i do) then I would get a C for the whole grade, unless i get Bs or As on the next 4 exams of course. It's hard to predict how well I would do because there's so much to memorize and she only tests 45% on the materials she lectured in class. This isnt a math class. I know that's not an excuse because it also depends how much time I put into it. I do put alot of my time studying and that's what I did for Nervous System although I did forget alot of body nerve names (ahh!! and teacher did ask for those names..ouch). Funny thing was on my last lab/lecture on Muscles, I scored an F on the lecture but a B on the lab (i admit..i did spend too much time studying for lab then i did for lecture on that topic). I dont like giving up and wouldnt like a W on my report card! To me, a W is equal to an F. My current GPA is around 3.3 (Yeah i know it's not the best GPA. Ive had As, Bs and one darn C from bio :\). Anatomy is 4 units. I am scared my below C grade( ) would bring my GPA down! My current major is Business/Maybe Nursing (hard to tell because Anatomy is the only Pre nursing class I have). I'm not distracted by my Business workload. I think I just have trouble remembering everything for Anatomy. What do you think?
  7. Just wanted update my situation: I took the test today. The test was divided into two exams: Lab and Lecture. Last night and this morning I studied diligently on the muscle structures; understanding the origins and the translation of the terms. So today I think I did OK for LAB but Im not getting my hopes high because I dont want bad karma. As for lecture, I dont think I did as well because I studied so much on the muscles I didnt have time to look at lecture notes! But who knows? I hope I get good karma for studying hard despite little studying on cell muscles!
  8. Hey Alll. Thanks for the tips and inputs. I think most of you are right about me not studying smart enough. I realize that too. On the lab portion of the exam, the majority answers I wrote were taken 1/2 pts off (A correct answer gets pull one point) so that tells me I'm not completely dumb. Today Im gonna use diagrams a poster has provided to identify/study the structures and find the translation behind the latin words. I found out the translations for certain latin words and it helped. WHY DIDNT I DO THAT AT FIRST?! Well I am still gonna try my best for the upcoming excam and study as much as I can. Thanks everyone! btw, my school's drop date shows a W on the transcript However, retaking it erases it :)
  9. This is my first time in Anatomy. I think it's interesting but I would say I'm struggling (getting F+/ D-). It kinda blows there's no extra day or two for my teacher to spend the whole class day reviewing. I would really love that. Did I study for the exams? Yeah, in fact I thought I would do well on my last test. Everytime I am confident, i do bad...it's weird! When my teacher wrote out the number of students students who recieved A, B, C, D, F, I was one of the two students who got an F. But I am not dropping the class yet (hopefully I wont). I still have 2 more chances before the drop day. I have an exam this Thurs on muscles (gahhh freakin latin terms. btw real pictures face muscle gross me out. I wish they didnt so I would dare opening the book) and 5 essays for Political Science to write that are due on Friday:crying2: then it's SPRING BREAK!!!!!! Wish me luck:bowingpur
  10. Hi I am 19 and sorta recently switched my major from Business to Nursing. Right now I am taking Anatomy. The only pre nursing science class outof the 3. Can't say I am enjoying it because it's so difficult. I dunno if I can handle it with my BUsiness courses. You might think why Im taking BUsiness courses along with Anatomy. It's because just in case I lose interest in nursing. Im still in the exploring mode.
  11. HI! My school requires students to take Anatomy. Then Chem to take Physio and Micro. So now I am taking Anatomy because i Havent taken Chem. So far I dont think Anatomy is easy. Too much memorizing. Too much foreign language!! Ive looked at my teacher's grades for students who took her for Physiology in the Fall or WInter and there were only 3 As, 4 or 5 Bs, alot of Cs and some F and alot of no grades. I dunno maybe because they dropped
  12. YIkes..another reason im hesitant to become a nurse. I was never an early person. During on esummer high school year I walked to school at 5am so I could play volleyball. Yep practice started early. I wanted to play varsity but in order to join you must go through the summer camp. It was hard despite getting 7 hours of sleep. I started to get sick. Running nose..fever. The practice during the Varsity season during the school year had the same morning schedule too. It was either my health or volleyball and I chose my health over it. Im glad I did because I was hurting my health big time.
  13. Hey all! Thanks so much for inputing thoughts to my situation. As of now I am still taking Anatomy but I am not enjoying it... . Today was 2nd day of lecture. My class combines both lec and lab into a single course so it's 4 hours long. It seems like Im learning a foreign language because alot of the terms are in Latin or something and I am struggling with that. Struggling to remember the names and its functions, and locations. The teacher is fast paced too! I would write one thing down and she would be way ahead of me! SCARY!!! The fact I'm currently having 5 courses (including Anatomy) overwhelms me a bit. The four courses I am taking arent pre -nursing related. Theyre History (Im pretty good at it..have to take it either way for Pre nursing and BUS), American Govt (have to take it either way again..took it not too long ago in HS so I hope i remember most), Business Law (dunno much about Law :\) and Computer Info System (just basic WOrd, Excel, Powerpoint stuff). So yeah, Business and CIS are Business related. I thought if I cant Nursing then I can jus focus on Business. I still dont like Anatomy but I liked General BIO!
  14. FOR INFO: I live in CA and am attending a community college so if i get into nursing, I plan to become RN getting the associate degree.
  15. I want to know if nursing is right for me. School spring semester started yesterday and I added Human Anatomy(the only Pre Nursing Pre Req in my schedule. the rest are all Business-related). You might think "Why are you taking Bus classes?" It is because I was a Bus major and last week I switched my major to Nursing. You probably think I'm crazy?! Yesterday was the first lecture class of Anatomy and I was bored. I dunno if I'm gonna remember all the Latin Medical terms. Im afraid if I dont then I wont succeed in the Pre Nursing process, nursing career(might fail the Board exam) or get fired! So, should I keep my Bus courses for now (Next Sun is the last day to drop and add) or add my other pre req nursing courses (Psych, Nutrition; cant add Micro and Physio yet until I take Anat) or should I keep my bus courses and take anatomy too?
