I feel the same way. Right when I went into school everything fell apart , but everyone else in my class (40 of us) had the same problem. I just keep going and remember it is temporary, DON'T QUIT. It really sucks I know I went from straight A's to barely passing, now I'm to a B average again. You have to work extra hard to keep everything together but it will be worth it. And know that you're not alone!!! :)

I'm in LPN school full time, and just got my CNA a month ago. I have a crazy schedule I never have a day off I work the 3-11 shift in LTC. I love my job though, and it's so awesome to actually get to see the things you are learning about. You learn so much more at work than at clinicals, because you actually get the patient load I have about 15 per night. The only down side is you have little time for homework and studing, but you have plenty of time to practice assessments and nurses to ask questions. In my down time (which is rare) I read charts. It helps alot, but you have to be able to manage time well and handle ALOT!!!! of stress.

I have been a CNA for about a month and I love it. I'm in LPN school right now, so I work 32 hrs a week plus go to school 32 hrs a week. I'm under so much stress I can barely handle it, to top it all off my fiance lost his job and place to live so he is living in my car, I still live at home. I love being a CNA but don't like the place that I work. I love all of my residents and am not sure I will be able to get another job, because I will miss them. I just want to know if all nurses are mean, bossy, and unsympathetic. I'm in school to be a nurse, and I will NEVER be that demeaning. The nurses drive me crazy, I have 50 million things to do and they keep bossing me around so and so is wet or has to use the bathroom. Meanwhile I'm changing someone else and 5 other people have asked to go to the bathroom. There is NO teamwork a CNA told me that I should learn to use the lifts alone because she doesn't want to help me, well I refused and she is very mean to me now. All the CNA's treat me horribly because I'm new, I still am learning about all of the residents. I switch floors all the time so learning about 130 people within a month is a little difficult. I can't ever find help when I need it but am always asked to help other aides with their work. The nurse has me doing wound treatments for her and all the mean time is bossy me around telling me what to do next. Some days are great but other's are nightmarish. Right now I have no time for homework and I'm just all around stressed. I need to vent in a place where others will understand, and definity not at work. I'm getting much quicker at my job, but the CNA that have years of experience get annoyed with me because I'm still slow. But I get all my residents in bed by 9pm with showers done and they are dry, I don't know how to win them over so my work day with them will be more enjoyable.

I live in Missouri and they let me challenge the CNA because I'm in nursing school. All I had to do was pass my first set of clinicals, and I didn't have to take a CNA class. I passed the time just fine because you are taught everything you need to know in school.

I just got certified and started my new job as a CNA, I went thru a week of orientation and last night was the first time I worked the floor by myself. I was on a hall that had 4 lifts and 2 two person transfers, and no one would help me with the lifting. We're not supposed to use the lifts on our own, and I know better than to try a 2 person transfer by myself. I'm just wondering if it's always going to be like this, the other CNA on my floor wouldn't help me at all, I'm not lazy just scared to death I was going to drop someone. I got there at 3pm and still had residents up at 11:30pm when I was supposed to be leaving, I only had 1 up she was combative and won't get into bed. Finally when the next shift showed up they helped me get her in bed. Is not having help normal or should I talk to someone about it, I hate having to leave residents up waiting for me to get help. I guess I needed to vent a lil, I just think that if I need and ask for help the other CNA should help instead of sitting down talking to nurses and CMTs. I was late with all of my residents because she needed help that was the worst night I've ever had :angryfire.....but I survived :yeah:Thanks for letting me vent on here!!!!

I just got accepted into nursing school ! I have a question for all the LPN/LVNS out there, what's your favorite part of your job? And what is the absoulte worst part? I understand everyone is different, I'm just curious. Thank you so much for posting!:heartbeat
