  1. I think Kaplan is a good nclex studying tool if you feel comfortable with the nursing content and just need to practice "test taking"...if you are not comfortable with knowing your nursing content I suggest learning from the saunders nclex review...the book is very detailed and provides a better picture as far as content goes...kaplan has a good method of test taking skills and strategies but that will not help you if you dont know what the hell you are testing on...content first then strategy....I took kaplan and did not passed the first time...I took saunders and pass but I do have to add with a little help from the kaplan strategy(plus saunders is a cheaper book than the kaplan review) :typing
  2. Your Welcome....meds are hard to study because there is so much and so many comming out...just keep focus and good luck :pumpiron:
  3. hello, a technique I used when I studied was to try to associate a medication with the category of how the nursing content is broken down in. eg: endocrine gasrointestinal respiratory cardio renal etc. once you know the basic category, then focus on function. Why and what the medication does that puts it into the category. Usually the pharm companies try to name the meds with the same ending or beginning but that is not always the case. There are so much meds out there that you can't know them all but narrow it down to the popular ones, the frequently used ones. When I took my NCLEX, there were meds I had no idea what they did (and i studied a lot of meds)...I did my best not to panic. I read the questions and looked for clues within the answers and used an educated guess based on what I studied. The key I believe is to take your time, do not rush, it is not a racing contest...when you study, understanding the content...it is an obvious point but often forgotten in the rush of learning it all...I passed with the turtle (slow and steady wins the race) technique. Good luck! Hope this helps
