suzbug, Thanks! I took my test on May 1 and received my results on Saturday. If you took it on April 29, I would think you should have them by now, since I've received mine. I would call Natalie and see what's up. Im sure you did fine on the test. I left feeling the same way and i got a 92. I sent my admissions material in last may, not knowing if i passed the exam or not. I was told they hold them for 1-2 years. I would send them in. Good luck to you! Keep me posted on the status of your results. I have a feeling I will see you in the fall.:wink2:

Hi Everyone, Ok so it's like this! My results from the PSB entrance exam science retest came today...after staring at the envelope for nearly 30 minutes, I open it. I'm expecting to see a not so good score, but praying that I get at least a 75%. The results were....(drum roll, please!!)......a whopping 92%. I am so happy and relieved. I have all my admission materials in, so I guess the next part is to wait for an acceptance letter! (dang all this waiting!!) I can't believe after all I went through to get to point, the day has finally came! It's the most incredible feeling. I haven't felt like this since the birth of my children. Anyone know how long before the acceptance letters are mailed out? Thank you to all who have gone through process with me. Your words of encouragement, meant alot and finally paid off!!!! I'm so excited!!! Sorry so long but i'm am way to happy and can not get it all bottled to myself! need to share!!!!

Did anyone who took the PSB Exam on Friday, May 1 for UPMC Shadyside SON receive their results yet? AARGH!! The waiting is killing me! I know they should be in soon and was wondering if anyone received theirs. Thanks for your input in advance!

Thanks Laura! Life has not been very nice to my family and I, to say the least. So everything I started working on last year got put on hold til now. I will definately let you know what happens. Hopefully i will have good news to share with you! I think that'd be a first, in a really long time!

hello there everyone! Well, I took my retest for the science section on May 1. I took the on May 16 2008 and missed by 2 points, then life happened and i couldn't retest until now. I have about another week or so til i get my results...so here I sit and wait and ponder and basically go out of my mind waiting for my scores. I have all my admission things sent in already, did that last May. I even sent my check for the admission fee ( which they had no problem cashing LOL ). Now I sit and wait to see if I passed. If I did then, I get to sit and wait for my acceptance letter! how did you guys pass the time away while waiting to hear? Any advice????

Hi There! Is anyone else having a hard time accessing UPMC Shadyside's SON website? Have they change their address? I am trying to obtain a PSB form and some other info and can not get on to their site. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!!

hello everyone! just wondering if anyone who took the psb exam in may has gotten there results back yet. i just took mine last week and i'm getting anxious! wanted to see how much longer it would take. when i took it in february i waited 3-1/2 weeks to get the results. unfortunately, i can not wait that long as the deadline is fast approaching. i sent in everything just waiting on results and high school to forward transcripts. just curious to see if they move a little faster when the deadline is upon us! thanks!

Thanks! I am not a last minute person and right now not having things done properly and at the last minute are not going over real big with me right now. But, due to unforseen family emergency, I had no choice but to test last week and put myself into this situation. I guess I'm just a bundle of nerves right now, too! Waiting for the results of the test, wondering if I'll make everything before the application deadline, hoping to be accepted, etc. thanks for your input. Maybe I will just call and see. I think I need to call Natalie to find out.

Hello all! I was wondering if anyone else took the PSB exam for Shadyside on 05/23/08? I have a bit of a predicament. As you know, you can not move forward in the admissions process for Shadyside until you find out whether or you pass the PSB entrance exam. (well considering I only took it last Friday and won't know the results until sometime next week. Hopefully! ) Anyways, I was double checking to make sure I have everything together, so when I find out my results I can immediately send my application, etc in. In doing this I contacted my high school and they tell me they require at least 5-7 days ( business of course ) notice to forward transcripts. Primarily because i graduated "so long ago", my records were placed in archives/storage. Question...Do I wait for the results of the exam, and pray my transcripts get there in time or do I request my transcripts be sent now and pray I passed the exam, so that I can continue forward. I am not sure what the wiser decision would be. Any feedback would be gladly accepted. Thank you!

well, wish me luck! i just now mailed in the registration form to retest for the science portion of the psb exam for shadyside. i have registered to take the test on may 23, 2008. i am so determined to do this that i am driving myself crazy. i know the material really well, but my only concern is that i get mild test anxiety. never really did that until now. (must be age creeping on me. lol) any words of wisdom for a fall 2008 hopeful?

Laura, hi! I finally took the test. Boy u were right the science hard. I'm not feeling very confident about the science. And i really studied!! Maybe i didnt study long enough or as hard as I thought! But there's no going back. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers that I did well. I should be getting my results anyday now. (I HOPE) By the way thanks for your help. It was/is much appreciated. Hopefully I will see you at Shadyside in the fall. Cindy

I've been studying since last June and faithfully every night + weekends since November. I thought the reading, vocab and math weren't too bad, but the science was a bit out there. The books i had only covered 1/2 of what was on the test. I left with an ill feeling about the science section. You're right about the voc and math it was hard to stay focused because you had to keep switching gears. I did not understand the 320 total and the 75% thing either, if you do the math it doesn't add up. I am going out of my mind waiting. I just hoped i passed because I don't think I have enough time to take a remidiation course and be able to retest for fall admission. I'll be very disappointed if I can't go this fall. I've been trying to do this for so long. This is the farthest I've came to actually doing it. Everytime I would consider doing it something came up that prevented me from acheiving my goal. I plan on going part time evening. What about you. When did u take ur test?

MVPDaddy Thanks for the reply and help, but I took the test on 02/15...it wasn't what i thought it was going to be. I did my best and know i just have to hope for the best. I should be getting my results any day now. The wait is making me crazy.

Laura, Thanks so very much for all your help. Hopefully, I will be taking the exam on 02/15/08. I decided over the w/e to take it then instead of later in the month. I just hope it gets postmarked by 02/05. Will they send me a confirmation letter for the test date? how does that work? I'll let you know what happens for sure. I just have to calm my nerves. Yipes!! I almost feel like i'm in high school getting ready for the SAT test. LOL My kids are laughing at me. They are not used to seeing me so stressed out about stuff. My 13 year old daughter keeps telling me it's just a test. My reply is, " yeah but an important one." Her and her 7 year old brother just keep telling I can do anything i put my mind...which is scary because that's what I tell them. ( I guess they do listen to me when I talk) Ha! Ha! Thanks again. if you fail a section(s), not they that i plan on it, but you never know. Will they give you a few weeks to retest or do you have to take a class and then they retest you? How does that work? Thanks for the help!
