sleep deprived

I am also a LTC nurse. It is so great to know that there is someone else that truly loves these sweet people. I know that no one can understand the care and dedication you have to have in order to do this job. We are sometimes the only family they have and they truly need special people to help them. YEAH!!!!!! FOR ALL NURSES !!!!!--no matter what specialty.

I can relate I work LTC have 26 residents and only 2 PCA'S for days, and 2 for 3-11. I really hate the family members that come in and demand this or that [ this is my favorite line"""we are here all the time "" --YOU ONLY see them Holiday's or if they stop in to whine and complain. I know that I love my resident's and nursing but sometimes I think, can I do this today? I feel so frustrated!!!! you try to tell people and they just don't get it! ,

what is the problem with EMS workers being so rude. I work long term care andwhen we call for an emergency ,they act as if it's such a problem to come help our resident's. The younger they are the cockier they are!!!!I finally had it today""I told the one today ,if he was half as good as he thought he was ,he wouldn't be riding in the back of the ambulance taking orders he would be a doctor giving orders!!!!! oh!!!!they really piss me off some days. Thanks for leeting me vent!

I have some advice for you DON'T DO NURSING'' --the patient would not want you there grimacing while you help clean them up,or hold there head as they vomit. A true nurse doesn't mind getting down with the germs,worms,or whatver you may see. AS a nurse you will see things that people usually don't want anybody to see. It takes a special person to be a nurse and if the YUKKIES'' are bothering you now RUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I was beginning to think you were working where I was. This same thing happened to me , I finally put my foot down and let me tell you ,there were only a few survivors. They are just mad because they want to be a nurse and don't have the brains to do it. I say tell them to take there Union and shove it. YOU!!!!!!! are their supervisor,they can be wrote up and fired for insubornation. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!
