Depending on the self-check, it will determine in which stream you are classified on: A or B or C Stream A will let you proceed immediately with the initial registration after paying the fees. Stream B will require you to sit for an Outcome Based Assessment (OBA) which includes a multiple choice examination (MCQ) and an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) before getting your initial registration. Stream C will require you to enroll in a qualification leading to registration through approved study programs. Hi! It is a bit competitive to get a job in the city considering most people will be wanting that. But there are still heaps of nursing opportunities in Australia especially if you are looking at living in the regional area. Cost of living is fairly cheaper than in the city. ED Nursing in the rural and remote areas is very exciting! Nurses are becoming more independent. You will have the chance to Triage and Treat many kinds of interesting presentations. However, some smaller towns do not have any medical officers present in the hospital, so the care all depends on the nurses' assessment and skills which might be a little overwhelming if your are a fresh graduate. If you choose to study nursing in Australia, depending on your university it is a combination of online learning/ self directed learning/ placements in health facilities (depending on which year level you are on).
