  1. I do have 2 masters degrees neither of which is teaching. The program is already developed and there is currently a health science teacher at the school. The program is in high demand, so they are hiring another teacher. The program for those that aren't familiar is like HOSA (health occupation students of America). Preparing the students to sit for CNA exam post graduation. My state does have common core.
  2. I do not have any experience as teacher. I will be taking 5 teaching courses so that I can get my occupational teaching license.
  3. It would be teaching health science in an high school setting.
  4. Interviewing on Monday would love to hear your thoughts.
  5. Looking at obtaining a job in Health Science within a high school. What are the pros and cons for these roles?.. Interested to hear your thoughts!! 😀😀
  6. I will let you know as soon as I get some more information regarding expectations. What state are you in?
  7. Is there anyone working as a case manager and utilization review nurse? Need some suggestions on how both roles can be one. What is your caseload? How many reviews are you expected to complete a day? Do you perform concurrent, outpatient, pre cert reviews on all your patients. How are your cases assigned to you? This program will be implemented in a health plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I am hoping to teach part time to help with paying my loans back..
  9. I have decided to get my msn in public health. I am working as a manager developing wellness/health promotion programs for the new population that will be covered under the affordable healthcare act.
  10. I am in SC and I now make what a new graduate NP would make. I also don't work weekends and holidays. I work for a co-op health insurance company currently. I have changed tracks and now going to school to get msn in public health. I am hoping to teach part time online to help pay my loans back. My major is to become a VP of a wellness program that would benefit the under serve population.
  11. I am hoping to move to Florida at some point from SC. I thinkI am going to change tracks from NP to MSN-public health. This degree will allow me to teach or manage health promotion programs.
  12. I am trying to get any available information on the MSN-Public Health program.. Thank you
  13. Is that their primary job or they doing it as supplemental income?
  14. I am having the same dilemma right now as we speak (ugh).. What did you decide to do and what school are you attending?
  15. This role is done with a NP degree?
  16. I guess the only way to find the answer is to continue on our path and make the best of it. I know for me I don't want to diagnose and treat patients forever. I would love to move to develop health promotion programs or working a public health clinic.
  17. We have the same issue because I don't want to diagnosis and treat patient forever. I would love to move to developing health promotion programs or running a public health program.
  18. Thank you for the feedback, so as a NP the RN experience really comes in handy for assessments. Have you meet any NP that were direct entry (no nursing background)? If so, were they different from NPs with a RN background.
  19. You made a lot of valid points and I must say that I agree with you. I guess we will have the opportunity to test the theory :)..
  20. It is driving me crazy because right now I am a health promotion manager for an insurance company. I have been out of direct care for about 4 years. I am wondering how this will affect my ability to be a good FNP..
  21. Hey all, Are there any FNP working in a non-clinical setting? If so, what is your current role. Thank you for your response...
  22. Hey everyone, Are there any NP student not currently working direct patient care? Do any of you feel like you are missing something by being in the program and not currently working with patients? Are you planing to work direct care after graduating? I getting nervous because I am the only one in my class not working patient care. Starting to wonder if I chose the right career, even though this is something I have wanted to do for a long time..
  23. Randy, Email me please would be interested to here more [email protected]. I have appeal, concurrent, precert, and coding.
  24. Hey all,I applied to Frontier University class 109. I submitted my application for FNP, but wondering if I should have applied to the CNEP/WHNP. I really have a passion for Women's Health, but there isn't a great need in my area. Has anyone applied for the FNP program?
