  1. Hi , I am a new grad adult - Geriatric NP primary care in San Francisco looking to relocate in San Diego. I want to find out what the job outlook is there for new grad or NPs in general. Am I better of staying in San Francisco? My husband and I yearn for warmer weather and family closeby. Any advise helps, thanks!
  2. still waiting for UCSF AGNP results. I, however, applied as a post-masters student and ours are a little bit delayed (I understand they accept masters students first). Any post master's applicants out there?
  3. I have been accepted in UCLA for the AGNP post master's track for fall 2012. but still awaiting UCSF since I live and work in SF! goodluck to us!
  4. I have received an acceptance letter for post masters AGNP in UCLA! still awaiting UCSF. goodluck to all.I live in SF and would like to keep my job as an RN while finishing school. any news?
  5. I am about to apply for the post masters AGNP program for the fall. they have not sent out the applications yet, i wonder if anyone out there is applying for this. I have 3 years med-surg telemetry experience and can't wait to go back for my NP in adult primary care. Anyone already accepted from last year or know anybody in this program? i am anxious to know my odds. also applied to UCLA but do not want to relocate at the moment. (i live in SF)
  6. HELP, I have an interview tomorrow At the CMF in vacaville. I am a new graduate and i have gone to alot of interviews and exhausted all efforts during months of job hunt. I dont know if il get a response since its tomorrow. but anyone out there know what the interview questions are like and how to prepare for them at the Calif. medical facility in Vacaville? any tips appreciated, thank you!
  7. I have applied to this santa clara new grad and received an email (2 wks ago)stating that the application has been received and they will contact applicants if they are selected for the series of interview. it seems they have received alot of applications.
  8. Also, are there folks out there who went back to the hospital after experience in the correctional facilities? did you have an ok transition and did your experience in corrections help you land hospital jobs?
  9. anybody interviewed for any of the Vacaville / solano state prisons and was offered a job? I am waiting for a reply and i interviewed for the solano correctionals and psychiatric programs. I am a new graduate and very interested in acute psych/forensic nursg. I also need information on the difference between a correctional medical facility RN Vs Correctional RN Vs psychiatric correctional in terms of patient acuity, equipment, and staff safety.
  10. Hi, I just came from a hiring interview for correctional nurse in solano state prison, Vacaville. I am a new graduate. Is there anyone out there who has worked for this institution? I should know if I am hired within the next week. I have never worked or know anyone who worked in a prison as an RN. I have always thought I will try corrections at some point for the experience, but didnt realize it would be this soon. I am not nervous about the inmated but more about my hope to work with staff that are competent, qualified, provides adequate training and likes what they are doing. There is nothing more frustrating than working with someone who does not want to be there.
  11. I am in the middle of the jobhunt myself as a new grad. Its hard out there. Nonetheless, I think time will come when we will be grateful for the opportunity to know how to network, interview, etc. something most nurses did not go through. We will get something going for us in time and we will hold our newfound roles to greater value.
  12. Thanks, very good to know they are getting more new grads. Anyone applied and have heard back from UCSF's new grad acute care program?
  13. I know its hard out there, I am in the same position. I would say if you are interested in a post, apply anyway and be persistant. You already lost the opportunity by thinking its impossible. when you are not giving yourself the chance, no one will.
  14. Thank you for this post. Does anyone know of the interview/hiring process for washington hospital and how many new grads are they hiring? Any feedback from the ones who got hired last april at this hospital? Thanks
  15. Thank you. I know its just a matter of time before we are all swamped with work. Its just hard to EVER get started if no one gives us that 1 year of experience. Unfortunately, i dont have any relative or friends who works at these hospitals. Any new grads who got hired?
