Hello! I went to MCI and did their LPN program a few years back-I had a great experience with the program itself. But, They were just implementing the RN program at that time and we were told their was a huge wait list, etc, so I continued on with the LPN program. About three months into the program we found out there was no waitlist and that they offered the pre-reqs at the school. A bunch of us from class wanted to drop the LPN program and just do the RN program, but we were told it was too far into the LPN portion and we would have to finish and THEN start the RN program. Needless to say we were all a little upset-so, if you're thinking about the RN program, do that one unless you want to do both. Sorry so winded, but I hope this helped!!

Hello! Just wanted to answer your post regarding MCI grads. I am a graduate of their LPN program and I had multiple offers of employment before I graduated from school. One from a local hospital and another in pediatrics among others. I was fortunate to have a choice that didn't necessarily include LTC. I love my job! I think some people will always have a negative opinion about MCI, but you have to make the ultimate decision for yourself. MCI worked out best for me because of my family's needs and schedule. Sure, it was the more expensive route, but it was what worked for me. Good luck in your adventure and hope you have a successful career!!

Don't give up! I took my test on a Thursday morning. Another of my classmates took it that day as well and found out on Friday that she passed, but no results for me. I kept checking and then waited all weekend long-distraught, to say the least-and still nothing on Monday morning. I felt defeated and was so upset. By the time I arrived home from work from my new job, my friend had called my husband and they got my results that I had passed. So, maybe it just hasn't posted yet. Good luck to you! Hello, I was wondering if anyone here (that has attended the program)could give some insight on MCI's RN program? I'd love to hear first hand any info that you could offer about their clinicals, etc. Thanks!!

Hello! I tested on a Thursday morning and my results were available the next day although I didn't realize it. (It's a long story!!! ) You can call the 800 number for the Board of Nursing or check the website. Good luck to you on your exam! Just take a deep breath, try and relax, and remember that you will survive-even though you may not feel like you will!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I am definitely on my way to pursuing Excelsior. I'm still working on reading their nursing catalog and processing it all! I can't wait to start and be finished! LOL! Good luck to you all on your exams and the CPNE- I can't imagine the stress you must be feeling while waiting, but I'm sure you will do great! Wow! Thanks everyone for the fabulous advice! You all are too kind! I dabbled a little more on the Excelsior site this evening and it's seeming to make more sense, but I will definitely give them a call and get further information. To answer your question Lunah, the rep from TCN didn't imply they had a relationship per say with Excelsior, but I got the feeling they would lead someone who didn't know to believe they do. You're correct, they do have one heck of a sales pitch! It's sounds really good, but something made me feel like I shouldn't go that route. Again, thanks to everyone for their replies. Hello everyone! This is only my second posting here, but I've been reading information here for quite some time and I apologize in advance as I know these questions have been asked before. I've been an LPN for about 1 1/2 years now. I want to go back to school and have been looking at Excelsior. Again, I've done some research and then today I met with a College Network rep and I am totally confused! Can anyone give me advice on how to do/start the Excelsior program not using the college network? I've read through Excelsior's site a few times and I think I understand, but it would be nice to have someone put it into "lay-men's" terms. Ha, ha! I don't have any previous college credits so I would be starting from scratch and if I understand correctly you can do all the pre reqs and one nursing course before actually enrolling in Excelsior-right? Thanks in advance for any advice!!
