I really dont know what to do
travel50 now its my turn to apologize. I didnt mean to come across rude its just that I am constantly browsing this site and some people get so offended when someone mentions money. So i accept your apology and hope you accept mine:p I (like your son) initially became interested in nursing because of the money but I am also someone with a HUGE heart and i just love kids so I thought everything would fit together. I am going to look into respiratory therapist. as well. I did get into a BSN program so i guess that is half the battle right? I am going to give this more thought but I appreciate all your responses.

I really dont know what to do
I do not understand why people get so mad when someone mentions MONEY on this site. If you do not care about the salary for a job then why work at all? Working is about making MONEY and yes that is what I intend to do. But my original reason for going into nursing was because I want to work in pediatrics I love working with kids. So no its not all about money.

I really dont know what to do
Hey everyone-This site has been nothing but help and right now im really looking for the right answer. I have been thinking lately and I am so confused about where my life is going. Im 20 years old and I was planning on going into nursing but to be honest I really dont know if I am going to be cut out for the next 3/4 years of nursing school. I have just finished applying to a few RN programs and I heard back today from the first one so far and I was accepted so I do have the opportunity to attend if I want next fall. What my question really is was that lately I have been exploring other careers in healthcare. I know i want to work somewhere in the healthcare field and I want to make good money starting out but I dont know if I am going to be able to handle another 4 years of school. I was thinking of going into Radiology for an associates so I can start working sooner.I know all schooling is tough but from everything I heard nursing school is one MAJOR stress ride and thats something I just dont need right now. I just dont know and I'm such an obsessive type person that I let things like this get to me until i figure them out. Does anyone know of any other healthcare careers I should look into or any help on what I should do with my situation? Basically what I am saying (in all honesty) that I simply think nursing school is going to be too much for me and I am just looking for advice. Thanks guys.

Any ideas please?
It's about that time for me to begin applying to nursing schools and i have no idea what to do! I'm currently finishing up my pre-req's at HCC and have Eng 101, Eng 102, Soc 101, Math 101, Math 137, and Public Speaking already under my belt. I'm currently taking Chemistry, Intro to Bio, Psychology, and Eng 101 again because i got a c- my first time taking it because i absolutely could not understand the professor (and i know im taking 2 sciences but i can handle it im cracking down this semester. I currently have a 2.8 GPA and hope to get it above a 3.0 after this fall semester. I am wondering what, if any, are some schools i should apply to and if I have a chance?, or if I should wait till after spring semester and try to build up my GPA. I was told it's easier for males but i doubt thats true haha. If anyone could help i would really appreciate it. Matt

Norwalk CC anyone?
Norwalk CC, if im not mistaken, accepts applications for the nursing program beetween november and february of each year. So the application deadline for 2008 has obviously passed because I too wanted to apply there. Looks like i'll have to wait until November to apply. Good luck!

Cna
Hey everyone- I am fairly new to nursing and fairly young. I am 19 years old and decided I wanted to go into nursing about six months ago. I'm a sophmore in college and it took me some time to realize that i wanted to go into nursing. I know the basic background of what nurses do including the hard, dirty work( i have a cousin who's an RN and 3 aunts that are CNA's) but i don't know much about the details and all that stuff. I know how hard nursing school is however I am a pretty smart kid and catch on quick. I am planning to start a CNA course this week was hoping you all could tell me if it's hard or not to catch on. Maybe any tips or secrets that will help? This sight has been nothing but helpful to me for about two months so i appreciate everything! Thanks everyone!

Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing anyone??
Hey, does anyone know how much they offer to pay you during those two years if you sign the contract with Bridgeport Hospital? I am going there next spring and I was wondering what your salary is like if you do accept. Thanks!
