  1. 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? i took the nclex twice and had 265 questions both times! (i did finally pass the second time!) 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i took kaplan review course (which i didnt really think was all that helpful for me personally) i also used saunders and mosby's nclex-rn review cards with over 1200 q&a's. 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? we did have the hesi exam that we took at school and i think the questions on it were very similar to that of the nclex. 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? i live in georgia so i was able to get the quick results. i tested on a thursday and my results were available saturday morning, but it did take about a week and a half before i got my license number from the board of nursing. 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i was so upset both times! i left there certain i had failed...it was not looking good. i called my mother in tears and kept telling myself "do not look up questions!" no matter how hard i tried, i still looked up questions, which only made me feel worse! 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? it was my second and thank god my final attempt! good luck to all of you who are preparing to take the test and to those who are waiting for results!
  2. I know its hard to relax as everyone keeps telling you to do, I just took my NCLEX for the second time in January and I was a nervous wreck!!! (I did pass the second time, thank GOD!) I think it's easier to remember the questions that you "think were the easy ones" to look up because those are the ones that you probably read over the most during the test. I noticed the day after my test I was looking up all these questions I remembered being asked and stressed out like crazy cause they were all wrong, but I still passed! I had all 265 questions and even missed the last one (it was one of the ones I looked up) I was so depressed cause I just knew that if you took 265 AND missed the last one you failed....Well Im living proof that is a MYTH!! I know you have probably heard this a million times but the test is set up so that you only get 50% of the questions correct anyways(b/c its deciding on what level of hardness the next question should be)...which is why we all leave there feeling so bad about it! I dont think it relies on the # of questions you get right or wrong, but the degree of difficulty the questions are that you get right!! I hope this has helped...GOOD LUCK! Stay calm and try to RELAX!!!! Let me know how you do! Kim
  3. Maybe this will help you feel better but I graduated in June of 2007. I first took boards in August of 07 got all 265 questions and failed. I just retook the test January 10 and again got all 265 questions...and I missed the last one! I remembered the last question, came home, looked it up...and it was wrong! I was so devistated and sick for what seemed to be the 2 longest days of my life because I felt the same way you do now...I just knew I failed! When I checked my results 2 days later...I had passed!!! I just wanted to let you know that I once thought that if you missed the last question then you failed...but I am living proof that that is a MYTH! There is still hope and you can still pass!
