Dayton Area Schools
Wright State doesn't have a waiting list. You just have to have a high enough GPA.This quarter I think it's a 3.3? Good luck! You can check out all of the pre-req's online at http://www.wright.edu

Online Classes...
Thanks for the responses! I am not looking for 'easy' I just didn't know if because it was 'online' it was going to be more difficult than a regular class. My personal belief is, I am going to NS because I want to be a good nurse, obviously these classes no matter how trivial I feel they are must be important, so I am going to learn the material and do my best. I can't wait to see just how the set up is for online classes. I am SO excited to be going back to school after taking a quarter off!

Will I be neglectful and selfish?
We are leading similar lives! Everyone has 'pushed' me to get a career so I've done two short associate degrees, both of which I am STILL paying loans on and NEVER used. (Well for a few short months after school). I have 3 girls almost 8, 5 and 18 months and everyone says that I am 'taking away from the family' but REALLY I am investing in my family. I want to make a decent living at a job I love (So I don't come home bitter like my mother did), and can still afford to have a nice home (get out of this apartment) and put some money back for my kids college. I have been in the medical field since high school. The ONLY regret I have about nursing is NOT DOING IT SOONER! I should have sucked it up and did it 7 years and 2 kids ago, but you know what... all that matters is I am going to do it, with or without the support of my family. In the long run, people will see what I see and if they don't Oh well. I'll be a better mother for it in the end.

Online Classes...
Thanks for the replies! I am hoping this works out if not, I'll just drop and take them regularly.

Online Classes...
I have never taken a 'fully' online class. I have taken classes where the prof's had a lot of online assignments, but never a www class. This next quarter I am taking 1 tradition class (organic chem) so I decided that I would take 2 online classes. Sociology and Western Civ (BSN requirements) I am just worried about the work load. Do online classes tend to be harder easier or about the same as a normal/traditional class. For me, having 3 children, online classes seem to be the way to go, but I worry that I might have hurt myself. I am very driven and don't need someone hovering over me to get my work done, so that part wont be a problem. I am looking for experiences good/bad/ugly of online classes. TIA!

Wright State Nursing School!
I am taking organic chem at sinclair for winter and then I'm taking Sociology and a western civ online through sinclair in winter. Hopefully I can get into micro and some other electives that I need in the spring at WSU, if not I'll take micro and some more electives at sinclair in the spring, because I heard more classes are offered in the fall because of all the incoming freshmen coming in. Good luck on getting into the program! I'm not applying into spring of 2010!

Wright State Nursing School!
When I talked to the adviser last month she said if you have a 3.2 or better your basically 'in'. Also, if your a transfer student if you have more than 30cr/hr at wsu they ONLY look at that GPA. That is what I am banking on to get in. I only have A&P's and all those electives to take then I will apply. The classes I need are all full so I am taking some classes at sinclair and hoping spring quarter is easier to get into....

Wright State Nursing School!
I think I might have to take organic chem at sinclair. They are only offering the class on mondays, OF COURSE that is one of the days I work 3-11 LOL. I haven't taken my placement test yet. Hopefully the beginning of next week. Things have been crazy around here these past few weeks. I am waiting on wsu to call me back to make sure that the chem I am going to take at sinclair transfers.

Wright State Nursing School!
Sinclairs wait list is over the top! Like 2-3 years. Plus if a H.S. student was tech prep in H.S. they go to top of the list. I waited almost 2.5 years and still had about a 2-3 quarter wait, so I got mad made a bad decision and left, so then I would have had to wait all over again. I like that WSU is GPA based, if it was that way at sinclair I would have been in right away. Yeah, I'm not a chem fan either. I have my old chem for dummies book out and ready LOL. Are you going to school days or evenings?

Wright State Nursing School!
I am hoping that I place in stats so that I don't have to take extra classes. I am only 25 but I have 3 kids so time is wasting! I have my quarters pretty much planned out, one science per quarter along with the other classes required to apply. I should be done with all my sciences before I start the program or I might have to take the last A&P with the first NS quarter. But that's ok because I have already done one of the NUR classes that quarter. Ok, have to run... got to go to WSU and pay my app fee.

I am planning to take organic chem in the winter too. I don't know that there is any elective for 2 cr. hrs.? I am planning to take soc 200, stats (if I test into it if not whatever I test into math wise) and chem 102 in the winter. The classes I am transferring in our eng 101/102, psych 105/110/341, chem 101, bio 105 and nur 210. So you were only able to transfer your eng and a psych? Did you have to take the math placement test? ETA: I found out in my face to face with a counselor that if I take 30cr. hrs. before I apply to the nursing program they ONLY look at the GPA from WSU! I am so excited and glad to hear that!

Wright State Nursing School!
THANKS! I am planning to take Soc in the winter, I'll definitely look for that prof. I am a PCT/HUC, I just went from a demanding unit to a more laid back unit. I am only 16 hours/week so it's only every other monday, weekend and friday. I don't think I'll have much trouble working 16hrs but if I do then I'll just drop down to support, which I am already planning to do the last few quarters of NS just because of the spring track having a few 17crd/hr quarters. But we'll see how my kids are, plus work and how school is going before I completely decide on what to do. I plan on taking econ. for one of my electives. The electives aren't that appealing are they? LOL When do you plan on applying to the program? I plan on taking it slow and kicking butt on my GPA so that when I apply I will definitely get in, the counselors said that if you have a 3.2/3.3 your pretty much in, so that is my goal! Although I would like a 3.5 or higher!
