  1. Hey Guys, I am a recent graduate from Wallace. I loved it. I live in Gadsden and did the commute thing. It really wasn't that bad. I really enjoyed the nursing program there at Wallace. The instructors are great and so far all of us that graduated have passed our boards. I feel that they really prepare you for state boards. Good luck with your nursing careers. I hope this helps. JCH
  2. I used the Hurst Review to study for my NCLEX boards. I also used the Saunders RN NCLEX review book to answer questions for review. I passed with 75 questions. Good luck.
  3. Hey, I so can relate to how you feel, I took boards on Sept 3 and passed. I remember leaving the testing center and thinking "what have I done". I thought I had failed. I knew that I had studied alot and thought that I had prepared for this. But I just tried to keep myself busy for a few days until I found out the results. Take some time for yourself and do some things that you had to give up while in nursing school. And BREATHE!!! I learned that the hard way. Good luck and keep us posted with your results. JCH
  4. I went to Snead State before transferring to Wallace. I think Snead is a little harder. As you know, nursing school is not easy wherever you go. But I really like it at Wallace and have learned far more than I did at Snead. It seems that Wallace State tests are easier to understand than Snead. How long has it been since your friend failed out of Wallace? If you don't mind me asking? I am in my 3rd semester of nursing. Congratulations on graduating soon. I hope this helps.
  5. This is my 1st semester at Wallace. I transfered from another school. I am in the 3rd semester and love it. I think it is a great school. Nursing is very hard, but it can be done. Since it's my 1st semester there, I am still learning the program. They seem very organized and seem to have it all together. The instructors are great. All of them. They really want to help you. If you don't understand they are willing to stay and help. I wish I could tell you more, but like I said I am still learning everyone there. Good luck to you. Let me know if I can help you. :nuke:
  6. Hey. That's a great question. I took both on the same day and boy was it crazy. I am in my 3rd semester at Wallace. I love it up there. Great school. I enjoyed the health assessment class, but the pharm class was very difficult for me. I didn't really have to study for the health assessment. I ended up passing the pharm class with a B. Thank goodness. It was a lot of math and I had a hard time with that part. It can be done, but it takes a lot of study time. Good luck to you.
  7. hello all. i took micro in a mini-mester at our college and did it in 2 1/2 weeks. it was hard, very demanding, but interesting. i enjoyed it because it was very hands on in the lab. our college has online courses for micro, anatomy and other things. good luck to everyone taking micro. you all will do fine.
  8. :)hey. i am 33 and i just went back to school. i did take out a loan with sallie mae. i am very happy with this loan. i researched several loans and i really liked the sallie mae. you can defer your payments till you graduate. that was a feature i really liked. it helps to not have an extra payment when jobless. i did work full-time as an x-ray tech till i started nursing school. i was going to school during the day, so it was hard to work at my doctor's office. go to salliemae.com, i think it is called a tuition answer loan. i hope this helps. i just finished up my 1st semester in nursing school. i really enjoyed it. are you going into nursing? it is demanding. i felt like they threw so much stuff at me last semester, but i made it. i passed all of my classes with b's. i was proud. anyway, i hope this helps you. good luck with school. have a merry christmas! :ball:jch
  9. I am still in nursing school, but I do have a best friend at school. She is great. It sure does make things better at school. We tell each other everything. I know that if something happened that she would have my back, as I would hers. Hopefully, after we graduate, we can work together. It's amazing how God puts special people in your life.
  10. Congrats to everyone!!!!!!!!! I just finished my 1st semster and passed with all B's. I am so excited. Our spring semester begins on January 7th. OB/Peds & Med/Surg, here I come. I am so grateful for this christmas break. I haven't even opened up a book, which has been great. Nursing school is very different from the pre-req's, there is a lot of self-study. I hope everyone has a great christmas break & enjoy it!! Take some time for yourself. :) JCH
