  1. It is not flattering to be asked out by an officer that pays attention to more than one woman. This officer asks me out, outrightly says "I know how to keep you up til 1am" I don't care how good looking he is, his approach is lewd and shows a lack of character. If a man is reserved, respectful, and has the respect of his colleagues that is another matter. Whether I'd actually date him while I worked at the facility is highly unlikely. Don't discount that we make almost twice as much as they do. It's not uncommon for agency nurses to go with officers with retirement and excellent health care benefits as a consideration. I've seen comments of some nurses who have married officers who say their mate can appreciate their job and it's stresses. The officers where I work don't seem to have a clear understanding or appreciation for the work on the health care side of things. Congratulations to those of you who have made it work!
  2. Last born of three. Neither parent has issues with ETOH. Paternal grandfather drank excessively. Both my brother and sister left home when I was 12 (college) so I was an only child for 6 years and was responsible for many home chores when my mom was at work.
  3. We had a patient whose doctor allowed him to put his own catheter in at home. He came into the clinic and told us he had used hand sanitizer (alcohol gel) instead of KY Jelly for lubrication (Ow!). Another older gentleman came in and was alarmed at the growth in his throat. He took it out himself at home - but brought it in for biopsy. It was his uvula. (!) I got to explain to him that it was supposed to be there! :uhoh21:
