I am looking for an online program for a LPN to RN program and am wondering if anyone else has tried this route. I have a 1 year old and an older son and need to continue working as well, I have heard that online makes it a little easier to go with your schedule. Any advice would be appreciated.
  6. Thankyou, and good luck :)
  7. I think you've pretty much got your mind made up, good luck.
  8. I agree thanks!!!
  9. Thankyou for what you suggested, but I actually did not lose sleep over what she said and I due have " thick skin" but sometimes when you have a hard week or a hard day all it takes is that one more action that can just top it off and that's what it did (for the end of my Friday) ... I think we all have those days but it does not reflect how I handle everything on a daily basis, I just had a bad day :)
  10. So, I have been an LPN for the last 5 years and I love what I do. But one of my patients that I've had last week was an RN. Now I do not have anything against RN's at all, but she asked me if I was a nurse, and of course I say yes I am, and the next question was LPN or RN and I answer LPN and she said why are you wasting your time..... I thought that I must have misunderstood what she said and asked her to repeat it again, and the same question came out of her mouth. I never thought an LPN was not good enough, I feel confident in what I do and I feel that the title nurse applies to me too but she had me questioning is this what everyone thinks? The whole time I was doing her lab work, EKG, and instructions, she made sure I knew she was a nurse and she knew more than me and wanted the PA to come and go over some additional questions she had about the instructions I gave her, because apparently I sure could not know what I was talking about... WHY???? I have felt so down about this whole situation, I am proud of what I've accomplished even if it's not what others may want, but honestly she ruined my week....
  11. How did your interview go? I hope they went well
  12. Don't stress to much about the NCLEX and I know that's easier said than done but at this point your almost there, I used three Kaplan book and it helped me tremendously. As far as pay depends on where you work, I worked LTC for a while and made 19 an hour but since I had my son I didn't want to miss holidays and his basketball games on the weekend so I started working in a clinic I get 18 now but great benefits and Monday through Friday so that's nice, good luck!!
  13. Keep us updated on how it goes!!! Congratulations
  14. Just wanted to say that i have heard good and some bad things about Platt just like anywhere else but i know most programs do drop you if you do not meet the requirements in grades, and if she was there long enough when they did let her go she still has to pay the loan i had a friend that it happened to when her grades feel below what the requirement was they to let her go but she was there long enough to have to pay the loan back, hope all goes well for her.
  15. Hello there well i am an LPN and I love it:) I did LTC for a while but it was kinda hectic and so much to deal with that i did leave right now i work in a clinic and i love it i know the pay may be less than what i made in LTC but having weekends off and working day time is worth it to me, i get to use alot of my skills IV's, drawing blood, alot of educating patients and family and the pay is good for me and benefits are excellent, my doctor even gives us a full week off for christmas. School was a pain but you can do it, it is worth it in the end you just have to put your ALL in it. And you have so many opportunities to work in different areas that if you get one place and its not for you, you have the chance to look for something else in the same field its great i do want to go for my RN but for now i am happy and i have to get some of the loans paid off before i go further but it is worth it just do what you feel would make you happy and do not do it for the money because it will not work out. Hope all goes well:D
  16. Hello to all i just wanted to say since i seen that you had on here that with 85 that would mean you pass and with 200 means failing that is not always the case my class finished in Nov. 07 and alot of the students took theirs in dec - jan. and i had a few that failed with 85 and people pass with 200 i had all 200 and i passed i spoke with many people and they always reminded me not to worry about the number because you can pass or fail either way to many people assume and worry if they reach that 200 because they hear that means failing but not always true just thought i would add that in cause i know people look on here and when they see something like that they may worry but i was in the top of my class and when i had all 200 i just thought i did fail from what i had read but everyone just keep the faith you all can do it:) have a wonderful day
  17. I took the Nclex on the 20th of Dec. and had all 205 questions and passed so don't stress to much even though i know its easier said than done i will be praying for you.
