  1. I've never heard of this. We either use 1)fecal bag, 2)rectal tube or 3)the zossi tube, which is becoming more common, and less invasive to patients, and can stay in a LONG time (without the damage).
  2. When you get a bunch of women together, that's what happens. Just be careful to try avoiding falling into the same trap. I'm over it, too. Working in ICU is worse, where they seem to "eat their young" moreso than in other areas of nursing. I just do my best to ignore this crap, do my job to the best of my ability, then go home. Who cares what they say or think, anyway? Unless it is false, and detrimental to your character, who cares.
  3. Disconnect the vent, and bag them on 100% O2.
