  1. hi, got you. thanks. i'll start sorting it out now.
  2. Hi, thanks for your replies. Basically, i was interviewed in person last year by three renal managers in Uof Alberta hospital. I was told that i will be working in Uof A. I took the CRNE (June 2008) first before i made my final decision to move to Canada. Luckily I passed it. I have been working in dialysis unit for over a decade in a full time basis. Regarding my question with my registration, i am a little bit confuse. I know that i have to apply for my practice permit first and it's valid for six months, right? If my start date is first week of march 09 in U of A hosp, when i could apply for my license? Capital health hired me as Registered nurse, one year contract and full time. thanks
  3. Hi, thanks for the info. It sounds very organised. By the way, what is NARP. I would like to ask also about my registration. It says that i have to work for certain hours before i could apply. Are they also considering the hours of my supernumerary period. thanks.
  4. I am from England , hired by capital health as a registered nurse. My commencement date is first week of March 09. I will be working in Dialysis unit in Uof Alberta. I would like to know, how i would be oriented on my first week of employment. thanks
  5. Just got my result today but it's worth waiting. I passeddddddddddd.
  6. Hi, Can anyone specifically tell me for how long should I stay in Canada before I can apply for permanent residency. I am currently working in England and has a job offer in Alberta. Is it a requirement also to be an RN first before I could apply for citizenship. Does it mean if we would not be able to pass the CRNE, there's no chance for us to be a canadian citizen? thank you. doublea
  7. sorry, i asked the questions that's already answered. i missed that part. maybe because i'm too nervousssssss. doublea
  8. Congratulations to all of you. I can't wait anymore to receive mine. This is an agony! Hope i'm gonna make it too. By the way guys, when you receive your passmark result, did they also write your score? And what is the passing score? thank you. doublea
  9. Thank you very much for your info.
  10. Hi guys, Does anyone know the format of the CRNE next year. I would like to know if the exam will only be multiple choice or are they going to include again the short answer questions? I am planning to take the exam next June. I would like also to buy used Mosby's book (2nd edition) or any Prep guide book. Where can i buy those books? Anyone selling? Ta.
  11. Hi guys,,, Congratulatons!!!! well done. Was the exam difficult? What are the books you guys used? I am planning to take the CRNE next year. How would they give a Pass mark. Does it mean that out of 300 questions, you need to have 75% correct answers? Ta
  12. Hi, Thank you for your info. I also asked my agency here in UK and checked about SEC from the internet. Hopefully I wont need to undergo with that because it seems too many hazzle. Janfrn, you mentioned that you have a co-worker from UK. How did she or he find working in Alberta. Are you In Calgary or Edmonton? Has anyone got the results yet from the Oct CRNE? How would you get a Pass mark. Do you need to get 75% correct answers out of 300 question. Ta
  13. hi, I want to know about this SEC assessment. I have sent off my application to CARNA. I am a bachelor degree of nursing graduate with continuous 15 years of nursing experience. Do i still need to undergo SEC? Ta
  14. hello guys, Thank you for your reply and info, very much appreciated. Actually here in UK, I almost get 30% deduction from my monthly salary that includes Employment insurance (PAYE), National Insurance (covers Medical + state pension), Hospital (NHS) Pension. At present, my rate (senior staff- full time) is almost equivalent to $28/hr. The cost of living here is i think much higher than in canada. House prices here is also soaring and the petrol now is almost a pound (£.96) per liter. I have a contingent offer in one of the hospitals in Edmonton. I will be started as a Grad nurse and they will consider my yrs of experience. I am planning to move late next year. so hopefully i wont regret with my decision. Ta
  15. Hi, Anyone can give me an idea as how much tax is being deducted from the actual gross of the salary per month. I just want to compare with my monthly income as a registered nurse here in UK. Trying to find out if it is worth to move to Canada. Ta.
