Passed the Pediatric CCRN!
Hello all, I passed the exam over a week ago and thought I would share what I used for those that are currently preparing for the exam. :) I started with the Pediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Certification Review by Gaedeke. I bought this book for $18 off of Amazon. It has a lot of questions and rationales. This book is so OLD but it helped and it was recommended by another nurse who also passed her exam over the summer. It is a very good book! After I would review a topic in that book first, I would then move on to the AACN Pediatric CCRN online review by Kathryn Roberts. There were six lectures that were 2 hours long. I listened to the lectures twice. My last review source that I used was the Nurse Builders Pediatric CCRN Review book. Yes folks, I used 3 different sources because I wanted to take this once and study for it once. I studied for about 60 days. I dedicated an entire week on the big topics like CV, Pulm, and Neuro. I hope this helps any of you thinking about taking this exam!!! If you are thinking about it, just sign up and set a deadline that works for YOU and just be realistic. What really helped me was that I didn't tell anyone at work. BSN, RN, CCRN!!!! Good luck!

UT Arlington MSN (Online)
I am also interested in the MSN education program at UTA. I just graduated from UTA with my BSN in May. Anyone else can give us insight on the program? Can you work full time? Course load? How does it compare to the BSN? Thanks :)

UTA online AP BSN program- with a baby
I just finished a week ago and I started my classes when my baby was around 3 months (sleeping longer and on a routine) with my 2.5 year old, and working full time too. It is very doable. I think you will be fine starting in maybe end of August or September. Just see how it goes with your baby...good luck!

Questions regarding Online RN-BSN
Hello, I just graduated from this program and it is 100% online as the previous user said. I honestly didn't have issues with the program and the only reason it took me more than a year was Bc of family breaks that I needed to take. The program isn't bad and now that they've changed research, it's even better. Capstone was so much easier than expected too. Good luck!

Research starting 2/23
If I remember correctly, we have to complete stats before you can enroll in research. Per uta, it's a mandatory prerequ but i would double check your advisor to make sure that is still correct today. Good luck!

Looking over everything...why does it look pretty easy?!?!?!??? LOL

Research starting 2/23
I did read for the first quiz and studied the notes plus the quizlet cards that were provided. I felt the quiz blueprint did help and I did focus on those areas that were listed on it when it came to crunch time. The first couple of weeks seemed the heaviest with small but tedious assignments. Module 4, or week 4, when we have to start the paper wasn't as bad as I thought. One thing I do recommend to anyone that will be taking it soon is that when the time comes to look for quantitative research article on the subject they provide is to make sure it is something you can see yourself writing a paper on. Good luck, it really isn't bad!
