  1. Can anyone tell me if a Special Care Nursery would meet the ICU experience for a CRNA program? I am still in nursing school and have my plan laid out to continue school to become a CRNA but I would like to work with children both once I graduate as an RN and when I finish school as a CRNA. I really have no desire to do adult ICU unless I absolutely have to in order to get into the CRNA program. I had an opportunity to talk with a CRNA while doing my OR clinical rotation at the local children's hospital but did not get to ask her the question about the special care nursery. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it!
  2. A friend of mine received the scholarship from Sentara as well and if the cost of your tuition is less than your scholarship, your forfeit the difference and you are still obligated to work for them the amount of time you agreed to. Example: you sign a contract for 10K with 2 year work commitment. If tuition is 6,000 then the school is paid the 6k, you are reimbursed for your books ect but you are still committed to work for them for 2 years and you do not get the remainder of the 10k refunded to you. Several people in our class received the scholarship. FYI - the October deadline for the scholarship has been extended until November for those interested in applying.
