  1. Hi Everyone! I too have some questions regarding working in Hong Kong. I'm from San Francisco and is currently a home care & hospice nurse. I have a RN-BSN. I speak Cantonese and Mandarin. I have questions regarding whether Hong Kong Nursing Council will let a nurse who is not born in Hong Kong to sit for boards. I am looking at the application form and it requests Hong Kong Identity Card/Passport. My dad is HK resident and I was born before he received his US Citizenship. Would that be a problem? Thanks! ~Linda =)
  2. Hi All, I'm a nurse working in San Francisco in home care & hospice and am looking into working in Hong Kong as well. I do not have actual hospital experience besides the time spent in school during clinicals. I speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin but I do not hold a HK passport. I would also like to know if my California license is transferable and what steps I need to take in order to be able to work as a nurse in Hong Kong. Thank you! =) ~Linda
  3. Hi All After months of looking for a job and hearing that everywhere was full..I finally scored a interview for a night position on the postpartum floor with promise of L & D training as well. What are some questions that I should be prepared to answer that are specific to that floor? Thanks!!
  4. I'm trying for Kaiser SF's October opening and Seton Medical said check online by the end of this month for postings. I'm hoping I can get into some. I've had two very disappointing results already so I'm pretty bummed. Going to the nurse manager is a very good idea. I'm going to look up my preceptor and see if she can help me. Thanks for your advice!!!
  5. Hi All, I am a new nurse, just got my license in 5/08 . Still haven't gotten into a new graduate training program although I'm not a new graduate. I graduated in 12/2006 and just took my test on my 2nd try and passed. I just feel like this is hurting my chances at getting a position because I'm not fresh out of school. I've actually had a hospital tell me that they only take new graduates that graduated within a year!!!! All the hospitals will either only hire experienced nurses or you must get into a new graduate training program. I'm waiting to apply to two hospitals in August for their October program. I'm just so bummed and scared that I wouldn't get in any right now Any tips?? Thanks!!
