  2. Hi, I am so down and depressed. I started nursing school in the spring of 2006. i should have graduated in the fall of 2007. Unfortunately, I failed my last semester with a D. I had to sit out a semester b/c there werent enough spaces for the spring of 2008. I attemted my last semester of RN nursing in the fall of 2008 however I was unsuccessful again. I needed 3 more points on my final to pass. since then I have been trying to get back in however there aren't any nursing schools that will except any of my nursing credits even the ones I was successful in. If I want in I have to start from the begining. I found an online nursing school that will except me called Excelsior but I really didn't want to go that route. My questions are does anyone know of anyone who went through similar situation and what they did and does anyone have any advise about excelsior college
  3. Hi, I am a senior nursing student but I am still having a hard time understanding preload and afterload. I understand what they are and the difference b/t them both. I mainly have a problem understanding the affect vasodilators have on them. I know that vasodilators open the blood vessels allowing blood to flow out faster and easier as a result decreasing afterload. I don't understand then how preload is decreased, and CO is decreased. I can't grasp this concept. I can't understand if blood is flowing out more freely why doesn't it return more freely and how is CO decreased please someone explain in lay terms:confused:
