I have a little over 2 years of experience and am trying to get my first travel assignment. So far - it's taking about a months and I only had 1 interview. I was really hoping to start at the beginning of October but recruiters have not found me a position yet. I'm a little discouraged as well at how long it's taking. However, I hear from many people that once you get your first assignment, the next ones will be easier. Many hospitals prefer to take someone with a travel experience. So, good luck for you and me :))) I'm hoping!!!

I definitely give PRN meds per MD orders and as patient requests. If the patient is getting too sedated - I call the doctor to let know. I know that many people seem drug-seeking and it's frustrating to feed into their dependency, but the truth is that we never know for sure who is telling the truth and who is not... When the patient seems to be too sedated, I take couple of minutes before going into the room - a lot of times they will be asleep when you go in.. Then I wait until they wake up and are less lethargic.

Hello, I am trying to get my first travel assignment, looking at several different agencies... I don't know what pay rate is acceptable for a first-time traveler. Agencies seemed to promise me a lot when I first called but now they pay they offer is very different. Any experience out there? I want to know if I am being fulled.
