  1. I just received my results this morning, after waiting for a very LONG 3 weeks and 4 days, I finally get the letter and found out that I passed!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy and relieved! What a stressful few weeks it has been!!!! Congrats to the others who have recently passed as well! and Good Luck to all of you who are still waiting, hang in there and have faith in yourselves!!!! p.s. to the poster above me...don't worry I also had 85 questions..I worried at first that I was given the minimum and thought I really blew it. The number of questions given to you does not indicate pass or fail, just have faith and don't beat yourself up over it. Try to distract yourself and get busy while waiting for your results or else each day will be in agony, contemplating the questions over and over in your head!!! Good luck to you!!!
  2. Willow, I just got your message, but it says your inbox is full, so I'll just post my congrats here!!!! I'm so happy for you, you did it!!! Congratulations!!!! no more worries! you're now a nurse!! yay! I'll let you know when I get my results, hopefully this week since my test was only a few days after yours. Just one question...was it a big or small envelope??? Also....my congrats to everyone else here posting who also passed!!!! wish me luck!!!! lol :balloons::clpty::smiley_aa
  3. Ingie3 replied to GiveMeADay's topic in LPN, LVN Corner
Hey there GiveMeADay, Well it sounds like you are having a difficult time, looks like you could use a virtual hug..:icon_hug: I urge you not to consider dropping out of nursing school because of these incidents, you say that you graduate in June, you are almost there!! Don't let these people keep you from pursuing your dreams!! I also agree with the other posts, in that you should ALWAYS inform your clinical instructor with any problems or concerns that you have in your clinical settings. It is an unfortunate fact that there will always be some nurses who are very unprofessional and may even enjoy giving others a hard time. When you are a nurse on the floor, you will have to confront these nurses in a tactful manner or report to your supervisor. The good part of being a student is that your instructor can handle this for you. I just graduated from LVN school in December. I can say that I had some great clinical experiences, lots of good nurses who mentored me, but there were always a couple who I absolutely dreaded being around! There was one lady in particular who would always make it a point to make us look foolish and unprepared during the day. In our third semester we took turns being team leader during clinicals. I remember one week when I was team leader, I was helping a very stressed/nervous classmate with her meds and charting. The dreadful nurse approached us and started quizzing my classmate on conversions...she was so nervous that she became speechless. That nurse started laughing and basically called her stupid and incompetent in front of everyone who was standing nearby. We could of got right back in her face, but it wasn't worth it, that's what our instructor was there for. So please hang in there, this world needs good nurses like yourself who will provide quality patient care...never saying things like what that RN said to you regarding your NPO pt in your 2nd paragraph. Nobody said nursing school would be easy...lots of challenges to overcome, lots of which the book can't teach you either. One day you will be in the position to help a student nurse get through her day...I'm sure you will be very encouraging and supportive. You have a whole career to look forward to...don't let it stop now. Best wishes to you, and you know where to come and vent if you need to, lots of nice people on this board! Take care!
  4. CONGRATS CALI~MOM!!!!!!:balloons:! You passed..Im so happy for you!.. you're giving me hope now!! :clpty:
  5. Thank you cali~mom. Yes, it's a pain that we have to wait so long for results here in CA. I wonder if any other states wait this long also? Well good luck to you!!!:nurse: I hope you find out the result soon!! Be sure to post your results here when you find out! Best wishes, Ingie
  6. I am in the same boat as you right now. I just took the NCLEX-PN this afternoon, 85 questions. The test was nothing like I anticipated, I felt so under prepared!!!! I was given some really random questions which completely caught me off guard!! I also had A LOT of difficult priority questions. I try not to read into the questions, but some of these seemed like they were lacking some major info which would make it a little easier to answer (I guess thats the point huh??) Anyway, a part of me feels like I did alright... but the other part feels that this test did not justify the 1 1/2 yrs of school I just went through to get here! I'm so scared of failing this test!! I don't know if I can make it through the next 4 weeks! I didn't take any classes this semester so I would have sufficient time to study...so I better find something to effectively distract me until I find out the results. I'm also wondering if I should just keep reviewing, in case I do fail...so that I will definitely be prepared for round 2! :typing
