O.K. I admit it. I got a 910 on GRE. I also was accepted to 2 well known anes. schools. I studied the GRE text inside and out and lived off of the CD for a few months. Did well on the math 580 and NUKED the verbal. got a 4 on the written. It was brought up in my interview and I quote, " Mr. !@#$% do you have a difficult time reading?" My only reaction was to laugh. We are all human. I think your 3.8 GPA speaks for itself. Good luck in all that you do. Gutz

I have a different perspective on all this but it may be situational. I work in a med/surg ICU with a core group of nurses that are just an ocean of knowledge. Since my first day I have let be known that my goal was to advance on and enter anesthesia. These people have taken me under their wing and supported me in my search for ICU knowledge. Throughout my year in the ICU they have provided me opprotunity to learn as much as possible. The occasional ETOH OD ? Sure, but they had those hellish shifts too. My acceptance will not only be a tribute to my hard work and dedication but to all those who have supported me during my quest. I would have no problems sharing the good news with my co-workers. Again, this is situational though. Good luck to all.

So, I too am ready to send out my applications. Like most folks I have my pros and cons to my background. I'm just curious what others think about my chances, either way, I'm going to Anes. school. I have two Bach. degrees 1st 2.95 GPA and my BSN 3.6 in an accelerated program. I have my one year med/surg ICU finished soon. ACLS and PALS. I was even an Anes. tech while in my BSN program for two years. I was an EMT for 5 years, ect. Heres the downfall...I didn't get a 1000 on the GRE. I did end up with a 590 on the math and a 4.0 on the written but the verbal was apparently in chinese. I'm really hoping to make the cut the first time around but damb that GRE ! I just don't know If I can stomach a retake. I've heard in the past that the verbal is a non issue is that true? What do you think about this situation ?
