  1. I recently did both the hurst live & online review and kaplan live. If you are a disclipned and independent learner - I would suggest Kaplan. It does take discipline to go through their online content and go through their zillions of tests/question trainers (I believe there are 7)... But it is pretty great program. Most of my classmates who did Kaplan finished in 75-80 questions. It really helps if you have a hard time with test- taking and already have a general idea about overall concepts. The live classes DO NOT focus on content but instead focus on how to approach questions. There was one person who had 265 but that person didn't really go over content and just did questions. HURST Is very entertaining and will keep you focused on learning the overview of the big concepts and materials. I think the online Hurst was actually better than the live-session. I would recommend doing it online, but again you need to sit down and put in the time. Marlene is very funny and the stuff you learn will stick with you - I think throughout your nursing career. Students in my program who did program (alone) tended to have more questions on NCLEX, compared to those who took Kaplan... The range in NCLEX questions for those who took hurst was 80 questions to 265. The average seemed to have in the 100-130 questions on NCLEX. If you really feel like you a learner who cannot be disclipned to study content on your own and just never really "got it" in nursing school, I would recommend Hurst. I hope this helps you make an informed decision.
