  1. what paralytic drug did harrison ford use on michelle pfifer in "what lies beneath" ? it's been a long time since i've seen it but remember the bathtub scene, where she watching the h2o rise ever so slowly ??? or was that just a "hollywood" drug ??? :rotfl:
  2. matt ... lay of the caffeine dude. :rotfl: but ... yes, yes, especially yes, yes (mommy never really understood why i chose nursing), yes and yes (i'll show those jocks).
  3. who's randy travis ??? :rotfl: j/k
  4. san antonio just got rated the 'drunkest' city in the U.S. ... *hiccup*
  5. THAT IS SO TRUE NILEPOC !!!
  6. must go to texas ..... :stone must go to texas ..... :stone
  7. have you ever been to any those border towns that are paying so high??? you might understand if you have.
  8. wow, thank you for the info. ... however ... it still doesn't change my mind about NEVER, EVER, EVER wanting to know about being intubated ... :chuckle maybe i should just be careful about how long i say to bag me ... or better yet ... i'll just leave that up to you guys ... :wink2: p.s. sorry for developing an opinion "in areas where the lack of knowledge impinges upon true understanding of what a particular situation entails." because i know you're tired of it ... :rotfl:
  9. ok then PASSIN GAS ... enlighten me ...
  10. i, personally, NEVER, EVER, EVER want to know about being intubated. soooo ... that being said, if any of you are, God forbid, to have to intubate me ... please, PLEASE, PLEASE extubate me deep and bag me for 15 minutes or so ... :) ps. the God forbid is not b/c i don't trust any of you .... i just never wanna be intubated ...
  11. OUCH WNTRMUTE2 ... that's pretty harsh. but you are entitled to your opinion. i can see both sides in this controversy. LOISANE summed it up best, IMHO. it is a generational thing. i'm 29 and seen people play the system both ways. personally, i ALMOST relying on an anesthesia group to 'sponser' me while i'm in school b/c i don't think i could afford it otherwise (i've gotta daughter and a stay-at-home wife) i HAVE consided renting out my body/suv/backpack/anything else you can post stuff on, for advertisments :chuckle
  12. from what i've read, the only 'part-time' part of school is the 1st year. it's full speed ahead after that. too bad it's not like other grad programs that give you 6 yrs from time of admission to finish!!!
  13. anywhere but the arkansas site ... b/c that's where i'm applying and i don't need any more competion !!! :rotfl:
  14. it's a lil late in the game to be asking this question isn't it ? :uhoh21: i personally have started doing 'travel nursing' to help offset some of the expenses that will come along w/ CRNA school (not accepted YET). i'm going to pay off as much of my debt as possible while saving some money to use during school. i'll take out as much as possible in loans as well. ps ROLAND, she would have to be more than just SLIGHTLY more attractive than janet reno ... hehe :rotfl:
  15. 3 votes for elope. my NOW father-in-law offered to give me the money he would have spent on a wedding (maybe just a part of it) if we would elope ... hind sight is 20/20 .... ps. on second thought, did he propose before or AFTER you got your acceptance letter ??? haha j/k
  16. i'm not a ceo myself, but in my opinion they DO deserve what they make. like the article says, " The answer is that successful CEOs are as indispensable to their companies as Super Bowl winning quarterbacks are to their teams. They earn their rewards." it's just nice to see someone other than an athlete making really good money, b/c let's face it ... although there is skill involved, there's usually not a lot of 'mind power' involved'. it's nice to see education being rewarded as opposed to an athlete who left college in his sophomore yr to join the NFL draft.
  17. i don't know of any off hand, BUT, you've put a GREAT idea in my head, i'll write a book about my quest for the CRNA ... maybe i could entitle it ... mein kampf ... wait, that one's already been used. any ideas ??? ps. (no offense to anyone intended AT ALL, just attempting to be funny)
  18. wow ... first of all, congrats on being accepted. IMHO i would go w/ the health care administration/anesthesia route, b/c if for some strange reason the anesthesia doesn't play out for you, you'll have the other degree to fall back on. but then again, i'm just an applicant waiting to hear back myself, so what do i know.
  19. i haven't applied to the program myself, but a girl i work with has. she hasn't heard anything as of yet, but she says she attacks the mailman everyday ... anxiously awaiting the acceptance/rejection letter. :chuckle
  20. i just found out that twu has all my info (including my super's reference i sent 3 months ago). now i guess i'm playing the waiting game. has anyone else heard anything yet?
  21. i was told by someone in the office @ astate that you need a couple of grad classes before the crna program starts, i believe one of the classes WAS stats, but i'm not sure. i'm pretty sure you can take them online during the summer before classes start though. don't hold me to this but i think this is right, however i haven't found those pre-reqs on the school's website http://www.conhp.astate.edu/nursing/na.htm ?
  22. BDD , i'm not 100% sure about these numbers, but i have a buddy in school @ twu now and i think he said LAST year .... 600 apps, 300 interviews, 120 accepted. like i said, i'm not totally sure so don't hold me to these numbers, but they are close.
  23. ok, i'm getting VERY concerned. it's 2 days until the deadline and STILL no reference from my former super (i gave it to her 3 months ago) ... i've called, called, and called and left messages and i don't know what else to do !!! i guess i'm just going to have to see what's going to happen NEXT year (hopefully my reference will be in by then). ps ... the reason i'm having my FORMER super give my reference is b/c i just recently took a travel nursing assignment (to help pay off some debt and save a few more bucks) and my current super has NO IDEA about my clinical skills. hard but unfortunate lesson learned ... moral of the story, don't EVER change jobs ... especially when you're applying to CRNA school
