Hi Nurses, I'm taking a Nursing Research course and I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for interesting areas in Nursing that I should look into. It can be anything (from post-pardum depression to the nursing shortage to patient care) as long as there has been research conducted in journals BY nurses. Thanks for your help. I know this probably belongs in the student section but I wanted to get feedback from the actual Nurses with experience. Thanks!

I've been taking my pre-reqs (A&P 1,2 and chem.. i'm going to take stats and micro and maybe math in the spring) i'm looking to start applying asap for nursing schools in fall 2008. I have my B.A. from UCONN so I could go the cheap route and get my ASN and then later do a bridge to my masters, or I could go for an accelerated BSN. Does anyone have advice on where there are still open programs? I know that Capitol Comm College is full. I'm applying to Norwalk Comm College, and I was reading yesterday about Curry College in Massachusetts because they have an accelerated BSN program for 14 or 16 months and the pre-reqs weren't as extensive as many others. I looked into Goodwin, Quinnipiac, UCONN and St. Josephs. Goodwin seems like a lot of money to pay for a school that doesn't seem to be much better than a community college. You get the same degree so what is the benefit of paying more to go there? The one good thing is that you can start in January I think. St. Josephs and UCONN have the accelerated BSN but it would take me so long to do all the pre-reqs and i've already been out of school since 2005 so i'm looking for an accelerated path. Quinnipiac is 48,000 dollars or something ridiculous. I don't really want to spend that much if you can just go to Comm College or a less expensive program and pass the state nursing exam.. Does anyone know anything about Central's program? I called once and asked if they have an accelerated BSN program and the woman said they were starting one for next year, but then she called it an RN-BSN program so I got all confused. Any advice is much appreciated..

oh man I'm so in. I'm just taking Chem 111, it's general chem. there was one easier chem but it was full. I'm so scared, I haven't taken any Chem since sophomore year of high school ('98-'99!). I took A&P I and II this past spring/summer and that went well so hopefully chem will too. I'm from CT! i'm just living in NY for right now. I'm a very newly certified nurses aid. I got my first job at a hospital today and i'm starting in 2 weeks. I'm taking pre-reqs to get into nursing school and since I already have my B.A. from UCONN I was thinking i'd do the ASN at Norwalk or Capitol Comm. College and later a bridge program to get my masters. BUT Capitol is already full for 2008! My mom is a nurse so i've asked her a million questions over the last 9 months about this stuff and today I found this site so hopefully I can stop harassing her.
