  1. VERY well put! I totally agree with this. :heartbeat
  2. Learn to meditate. You will become more detached from the negativity coming your way.
  3. Everytime the phone rang and I was cancelled, I would dance around my house!!!
  4. Backstabbing, scapegoating, gossiping are forms of violence. They are psychological and emotional abuses to a person rather than physical abuse..
  5. like being beat up with a basebal bat , emotionally, mentally, and physically mostly by my co-workers with their gossiping, backbiting, etc. Is it because we are still a my, the staff relationships are what really drag us down. :angryfireNursing is not a nuturing profession. It feels female dominated profession and that's how women show aggression, i.e. gossip. Its really not the patients is it, its the co-workers who cause most of our stress to some degree!!! Yes, patients are stressful but, oh
  6. Very funny. I laughed out loud when I read your post.
  7. You need a "MD" to be an obstretrician not a "PhD" .
  8. I agree with you that there really isn't a "shortage of nurses". There's much more behind this statement, e.g the working conditions are so stressful as to be barbaric. No wonder many RNs leave after a while: go to law school, become real estate brokers, etc, I know some who've done this. And when people tell me that nurses earn good money- I want to tell them that its a ludicrious statement-there is no amt of money to compensate for what we experience in a 12 or 8 hr shift. They haven't walked the walk!
  9. I don't quite understand the...Judy, may you rest in peace. Will you please elucidate re: this statement. Thanks;)
  10. Why, oh why, would anyone want to marry a doctor? They are ego maniacs . Horrible to work with. Why would you want to go home to one?
  11. Everything you say is valid. However, it really doesn't get better after you start working. You will have the same experiences with doctors, nursing supervisors, managers, co-workers. Sorry, but maybe the instructors are showing you something important about what the atmosphere can be like. At least in hospitals, anyway. Good luck. Hang in there.
  12. Learn, watch other more experienced staff and try to stay as calm as possible because you will feel the adrenalin in your body. Participate in mock codes. Good luck!
