I would just like to make some suggestions. If you would like to get some quick education, I would suggest going to get your CNA. I was a CNA for four years and it paid my bills. I would suggest, depending on where you live, going to the Cedars At the JCA and applying for a feeder position with them and then they'll pay for your CNA course. And if you decide that you want to go back to school, go back for LPN or RN whatever you want to do. I would also like to comment on everyone's OPINION about Sanford Brown College. I went there for my LPN and I'm very happy that I did. I make very good money and I will ALWAYS have a job. LPN's run the nursing homes. And I will be going back to Sanford Brown in January for the RN 12 mth bridge program! Your education is what you make of it. Take into consideration everyones advise and follow your heart.:wink2:

I live in IL, but im currently and entry level LPN in MO. I'm going through the process of getting my License in IL also. Gateway Medical Center has LPN opening in their behavioral health department starting at 22.50/hr but that's without benefits. I always get great job offers. LPNs and MAs are very different for one MAs make what? $9-$12/hr. I make $20/hr as a new nurse. I think whoever wants to be and LPN go for it. I love it. It's great experience. I admit/discharge patients, administer injections/medication, i get experience with trachs, feeding tubes, wound care,transcribing doctor's orders. I love it!!!!!

Hi, I live in IL but Im an LPN in MO. I think it is well worth it. People have been saying for years that LPNs are being phased out. But if you look in the newspapers LPNs run the LTC facilities. I've had about seven job offers alone. I currently work at a rehab center doing weekends day and evening shifts. They give me an extra 8hrs a week so i get me full time 80hr a pay period plus an extra $2/hr for working weekends. That's $20/hr for a new nurse. I love the pay and being off M-Fri:nuke:

I was a CNA for four years, the most i have ever made was 11.50/hr. I don't know where the 12-15 or the 18-21 is coming from. I'm an LPN now entry level making 20/hr.
