Go thru Excelsior directly and use the info they give for passing the exam. Excelsior even recommends on their website that you shouldn't go thru these publishing companies, because you can pass the exams with their free study material. You can get some really inexpensive study notes from ebay that thoroughly cover Nursing Concept courses. Also you can buy the Nursing Concept courses for cheap thru ebay/Half priced books/ and other sites. You will pay THOUSANDS if you go thru these Publishing Companies and you get little to no support from them unless you initiate it and even then you get referred to an online support group. The only thing these publishing companies do is sell you the textbook/study manual for several hundred dollars each course, in addition you have to buy them all upfront with cash or financing. No refunds are offered after a few days of signing the contract. If you change your mind you are out of luck and a lot of money. I would also tape record the conversation you have with the salesperson from these companies. (informing them at the start, of course) That way, if you are given bogus info, you have something to fall back on when you figured out what they told isn't quite the truth. Which you may not find out until after your few days grace period has expired.

Take lots of notes and pay attention in class. Read the Chapter assigned and read all handouts the instructor might give. If you can make condensed note cards of your class notes, reading, and handouts, this will give you an edge. Also, highlight any words in black and any key points your instructor repeats twice. Instructors usually don't like to waste their breath and are repeating something for a reason- meaning you are going to miss this on the test if you aren't paying attention. Show up on time, hand in all assignments on time and definetly don't miss any classes including labs. Ask, at the beginning of the course, about ways to earn extra credit and then do the extra credit if offered. Lastly, don't forget to consult with the instructor if there is anything you are unclear about. You do these things and you will get a grade in Micro you can brag about. Goodluck.

I was amazed that the RUE salesperson told me that they were very concerned about my education and that they would support me all the way. I just made my tenth payment to RUE and not once have they ever contacted me to see how my studying was going or if I needed help. In fact, I called the company and they told me to go online and speak with other RUE material purchasers for support. They also informed me that the nothing is ever refundable even though the sales person convinced me to purchase some end course work ahead of time and she specifically stated that I could get refunded if I ended up not using them. That said-Check out all your options. You must be extremely PRO ACTIVE to do this program. Talk about independant study, I feel lost with no support. I wished I would have known about Excelsior or went to an in-house LPN to RN program, before shelling out almost 3,000 + testing fees and clinicals. Hope this helps.
