  1. I okie. I am also an Okie. I just moved to NH 3 weeks ago. I just rec'd my NH license so I am starting the job hunt now. I moved to Center Harbor. The closet hospitals for me are Laconia and Plymouth. I have searched their web sites but am having difficulty finding out much. I will be going this week to look at them and I will let you know. Where in OK are you from? I moved from OKC and worked at Baptist for 7 years and Mercy for the last year. thanks
  2. Hi Tweety thanks for your infor. early. I just moved from OKC to New Hampshire. I worked in the ER in OKC and I can tell you I have waited as long as 29 hours for an ICU bed just for the ER. I have always worked nights and found that even if there are 20 beds avail. in the am when I got there, there was only 1 or 2. What I found in our facility is that alot of the pts. that are put in ICU from the ER really don't need to be there. It is primarily doctor choice. What I found is that with all the new HOSPITALISTS they prefer the ICU (nurses) because if they screw up (docs) with their diagnosis and something goes wrong they are covered. I myself have taken pts up to the ICU in a wheelchair and no monitor! Primarily the ? drug overdose just to be watched. Anyway that is my take on it. thanks
