I'm taking adv pathophysiology. I just go by what the adviser offer, so I suppose a lot of the new students are taking it as well. I heard that it is supposed to be a hard class to sort out students, but that is just rumor anyway. I'm reading the chapters right now to get a feel of it.

Hi all, I'm going to TWU's Denton campus this Fall for my FNP too. Glad to know we have a little group going on here! I checked Blackboard, and saw that there would be a lot of work to be done this semester. Good luck to everybody!

I think the better way to put it is they designed the courses so that the most important/essential content fits in 5 weeks. For example, in my Health Assessment class, because all of us were RNs already, the professor emphasized certain things that were important and just had a quick talk over other things. My focus was constantly shifted every 5 weeks, and I like it. I would rather get the most important materials in 5 weeks and get done with it than drag myself for 16 weeks in the same class. But that was just me. I also believe you get out what you put in. I don't know anybody who did it at TWU so I can't tell you much about the difference between the 2 programs.

I posted this in the home health section but there is a suggestion that I ask this here. I just received a RN HH job offer in the DFW area for $30 per visit with mileage included. According to my understanding, there will be no admission assessments or recerts, I'm just supposed to visit pts once a week, and I can pick any day of the week. I already have a full time job, so this is just an extra thing. I'm just wondering if that rate is too low? This is my first time doing hh, I have one year experience on the floor so far, so I really don't know much about hh rates. Thanks for your input.

It's actually pretty good. I just finished the program a month ago, and I think it's just like any other nursing program, they make you sweat it with papers and assignments just to be able to come through with it. They were making some major changes with the program, so sometimes it was quite chaotic. I think my group was the first group to go through these changes, a little bit chaos is understandable. They actually removed the practicum part of health assessment off the course, which was good, cause it sounded to be quite a nuisance. Most of the instructors are super nice, and they helped us with lots of things. I would recommend it.

Well, as much as I know, if you don't have any priority point, you'll be way down in their list. And I think every semester you can apply to get into the list, but again, you'll be at a disadvantage because if somebody else has some points, you'll be behind them. I don't think it's possible to get in without any priority points, considering how many applications they usually get.

Thank you for the tip, I kept calling her but she never answered. When I emailed her, she sent me a reply right away. She told me that now they don't have any space left for interviews. And only if needed they will contact me. Is that a no then? I'm dreaded of the words "only if needed" Is there anything I can do? I'm just desperate now...

I'm a new RN with no experience, but I expected to graduate from my RN-BSN program pretty soon. I'm applying for the internship position for ICU in DRMC. I got my application in and was told that they will contact me if I was appropriate for the job. I'm serious about this, so I tried to call the Nurse Recruiter, not once but twice, left a message, but there's no answer. Have anybody had experience with this? What was I supposed to do next? I did my clinical at DRMC before so I would think I have some advantages over others, but I didn't work in the ICU though.

I need a good and reasonable immigration lawyer in the Los Angeles area. Is there any suggestion? I look at the directory, there are about over 100 of them and I'm not sure what the quality of their services are. Thanks!

Thanks, I guess I'd better go ahead and get that job then. I couldn't work last year at all because of my visa status. It really sucks. I'm getting worried now...

I graduated in Dec 2007 from my ADN program. However, I wasn't able to go to work full time after graduation because of a personal circumstance. I still won't be able to go to work full time until May (that's when I will graduate from my BSN program). My ultimate goal is to work in the ER full time after finishing BSN. I have done my clinical in the ER during my last semester of nursing school and I love it. I think that's my calling. Between now and May, I can work part-time and I was offered a part-time job doing pediatric home health. Here is the question: If I accept that job now, will it hamper my chance of getting into the ER later on when I can work full time? I consider this part-time job to be temporary only, but I don't want it to affect my bigger plan. Should I go ahead and do it? What's your advice? Also, what is my chance of a "new grad" like me (who don't work for a year after receiving license) to get into an ER somewhere? Thanks!

According to this http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/2yrEAD_FAQ_061208.pdf Does that mean I still can apply for I-485 although it can not be approved, and then apply for this EAD to be able work? That's what I understand from it.
